Reviews of Brentwood Animal Campus Doggie Dorms
"Where do I even begin to describe my frustration...? I applied to Brentwood doggy daycare, got an interview and instantly, set up a four hour trial run for that upcoming week. I was given a basic description of the job by Tracy - who at the time - seemed genuinely nice... to say the least. My four hour trial run was set up for the afternoon shift - 1pm to 5pm. Where I would be shadowing two of her employees. Though, it wasn't so much the job that was the problem. The professionalism of the employees and the treatment of the dogs is completely mind-boggling. I can't help but wonder how they're still in business.... I've never heard employees curse so much or talk so badly about their fellow employees. I can't even recall how many dirty, side-eyed glares I got within just the first few minutes of my shift. I wasn't welcomed. I wasn't wanted. Even the girl I was supposed to be shadowing, (who I was told, had been there for years), was a part of these glares and literally kept walking away from me outside. At some point, during the first half hour, I gave up following her. Even when it came time to clean the large, indoor kennels, it was myself and one other person doing all the work. Meanwhile, the other employee (I was supposed to be shadowing) laid down in the kennels with the dogs. Never once helping. Being an animal lover myself, it was very hard for me to stand outside with the dogs and watch them being treated so roughly; the way they were smacked & shoved, sworn at; I can honestly say, it makes me sick. The employees don't know their breeds, their quirks, their behaviors that come with that breed. They don't even know excitement from a bad habit. And that's not even the worse of it. The next day, I contacted Tracy in regards to my concerns & my passing of the job. Eventually, she answered me back completely dismissing all of my concerns. She backed up her employees by stating they were still in training. And then, she informed me I would not be paid for my four hour trial run because I did not accept the job even though she confirmed that night, I would be getting paid. This just blew my mind completely. Honestly, I didn't know how to react, was I supposed to be angry? Or was I supposed to laugh? - I suppose, I did both. I was told the newest employee was four month in... if that's not enough training yet, then that's a little concerning. Not once during my whole experience at Brentwood, was I informed that I would not be getting paid IF I did not take the job. I think it's very gutsy & inconsiderate of Tracy not to pay me. Especially since I did the work, which is more than I can say for some of her employees. If I had known I wouldn't of been paid for my time & effort, I would have never stepped foot inside Brentwood's building. Maybe - like the other two employees I was shadowing - I should've laid down in the kennels or better yet, spent my time outside (where phones are not permitted), texting friends on an apple watch. Maybe then, I would've gotten paid. It's unfortunate that I must be the bigger person in this corrupt situation when all I was aiming for was a decent job and my rightful earnings. Please, don't waste your time here, apparently, it's not worth anything."
"Sadie always has a great time at the kennel. She loves the pond and wandering around with her doggy friends she meets there. Staff is friendly and accommodating."
"I’ve sent my dog there for the past six years when I travel for work or vacation. The staff there is fantastic. They contact me promptly with any issues and have gotten to know my dog very well. My dog loves them and doesn’t even get stressed when I take him for drop-off. He barely looks back! I see his happy wagging tail and feel very comfortable knowing he is well taken care of while I’m gone. He gets lots of time outdoors and doesn’t spend all day every day in a kennel, which is important to me. The facilities are clean, well-maintained and there is plenty of room on the grounds for exploration."
"Dierks and Holly absolutely love going to daycare at Brentwood. They can't wait to get through the door. The staff is wonderful with them. So glad we decided to try Brentwood. Wish we had done it sooner!"
"Our little dog Benny loves coming to the doggy dorms. It is wonderful socializing time for him, which he needs. The dogs are loved and well cared for during their stay. They each have their own private, nice sized cubical. They also get lots of outdoor playtime. I never worry about him when he is there."
