"This is a tax service for people who just want to send all their paperwork over and not think or care about it. Not because it will get done right, but because it will mostly get done eventually. Don't expect any communication, or to be able to actually discuss you taxes with anybody. (I tried, but was only fed a condescending pander pie.) Don't leave a message with the receptionist, it won't get to the preparer. They take in more work than they can handle. And, when the taxes come back with errors, you'll be on your own unless you pay more. They also filed one optional tax form in my name without any permission or communication of any kind. (I will be looking into filing a form 3949-A.) They didn't ask or discuss it with me at all, just filed it and sent me a bill. I've explained this to them more than once and they still insist on me paying for it."

"Joe Magill was supposed to be my accountant for the 2020 year. I sent my documents to him in February of 2021. After I submitted my documents, it was radio silence for weeks. I reached out to him to get an update on the expected timeline for my taxes, and it took two emails over 3 weeks before he responded and said they would be done by that weekend. The weekend comes and goes with no response. I wait another week, and still no response. I send 2 more emails and 2 phone calls over 2 weeks before I finally talk to Joe on the phone. When I did talk to Joe, he did not apologize at all for his poor communication. Instead, he told me he has been busy and will work on my taxes later and has not started working on them at all. My frustration and disappointment with him lies in the fact that all I wanted was for him to reply to my email with an expected timeline. If he had replied that he would need more time to complete my taxes, but planned to have them done by April 15th (or now May 17th), I would have been fine. If he told me me he was really behind and would need to file an extension to complete my taxes after that deadline, I would have been a little annoyed, but still would have understood that this is a challenging year to complete taxes. Instead, he completely ignored my multiple attempts at communication, was rude on the phone, and did not apologize at all for his behavior. Ultimately, I terminated our business relationship given his terrible communication and lack of professionalism. I cannot speak to his accountancy skills as I never received my taxes. But for anyone who values good communication and professionalism, do not work with Joe Magill."
