"Had a terrible experience with KMA last two tax filing years. KMA has still never effectively transmitted my taxes to the IRS from a filing due no later than 10/16 of last year. Jason's advice has always been sound. Execution of my taxes has sucked and been overly expensive. Seeking a new CPA..."
"Still no resolution a year later! Kept sending me same one-sided Release in their favor! Incredibly disorganized, horribly Unprofessional, Non-communicative! STAY AWAY! After 20+ years, totally disappointed by this sub-par, unprofessional, disorganized group. It is terrifying to think these people are in charge of businesses' financial well being when their work is so riddled with errors/ My business partner (not a CPA nor an Accountant), caught multiple errors on my business return that, if were not caught, could very well have ended up with a very painful audit from the IRS. Their work is extremely slow, sloppy and error-ridden. My tax bill skyrocketed and no one could tell me why. I have been a loyal customer for 20+ years but since it was sold to KMA, S.C. it is lacking in so many areas. In addition, I must say your Customer Service Rep/Receptionist/Bill Collector, was substandard and rude on the phone with a condescending attitude. She represents KMA S.C. and, I must say her rudeness, PLUS the disorganization and errors on my business tax return done by Michele Enos, were ridiculous. She did not file my business taxes on time, although she promised multiple times to do so in writing, which caused my personal tax return to be late, resulting in fees and charges by the IRS (over $2,500). Prior to KMA Bodilly CPAs & Consultants, S.C. acquiring Hometown Tax and Financial, Greg Andrews (President) did my business and personal tax returns, and I never had errors tax returns during the 20+ years of having them done with his firm. You might check the work of this business associate/partner, Michele Enos. Disorganized, Error-ridden and a complete inability/refusal to take responsibility for said errors. Comparing KMA to Greg Andrews when he owned the firm (Hometown Tax & Financial) is like night and day. Michele and KMA should have written off the Invoice for doing my business return rather than taking $500 off, considering the substandard services I received from your firm. Interesting you also over-billed me at the onset which I questioned and you cut the fee then. Very disappointed in your services, your work product, your Customer Service person, and your CPA Michele Enos. The only decent person that had a professional demeanor in your office is Rob Earle, an Intern. He was pleasant and helpful. Kudos to Rob. IN ADDITION, on 9/13/2023, I encountered another incredibly unprofessional business practice by KMA's attorney, Susan Hutton, Esq. Due to the above review, Susan Hutton Esq. left a voicemail wanting to speak with me, accusing me of "leaving defamatory remarks about KMA and taking them down". She also said she "informed everyone at KMA NOT to further communicate with me". Not only were my remarks truthful and factually accurate based on my experience with KMA, they were not defamatory. It appears Susan Hutton Esq. is either confused or needs a refresher course on legal terms and definitions, specifically "defamation". She also misrepresented the facts telling me "as you knew, your returns were filed and accepted in August 2023". I would not have sent an email earlier this week asking if KMA had filed my taxes had I known they already filed my returns. This KMA attorney, Susan Hutton, Esq., said she "couldn't leave a phone number to return her call because", and I quote her voicemail "Your returns were filed and on 8/23 they were accepted by Federal and both states ... I will have to call you back because you will be unable to reach me during normal business channels...I need to discuss with you taking down this defamatory review". My factual review didn't misrepresent anything experienced with KMA & its employees. Many horrible reviews of KMA online; wonder if this attorney contacted them threatening defamation. To date, I have not received copies of the filed returns nor any communication by KMA my returns were filed; I only received Susan Hutton, Esq.'s VM yesterday stating the above.A dissatisfied customer may remove review if matter resolved. Defamation threat doesn't resolving matter."
"We love working with the team at KMA. They do my small business corporate taxes and our personal taxes."
"We utilized KMA for our 2021 and 2022 tax years because they were recommended by our financial fiduciary and our taxes were becoming increasingly complex. Prior to that, we had used a high level of Turbo Tax which took time but was accurate and easy. We paid over $15K in for our 2021 taxes. In summer of 2022, we received a letter from the IRS saying we had unreported income and had over $13K in back taxes (including $3K in interest and penalties). We paid it immediately but could not understand how there was such a deficiency in our reporting when utilizing a professional accounting firm that should have experience. KMA did not apologize and doubled down that they did not miss any of the files we electronically uploaded ono their site. I was told by Chris Olson we did not need to file an amendment. Weeks later, I received an amendment for 2021 prepared by Jason Kadow. They wanted to bill us $250 for the preparation of the amendment which we had been previously told we didn’t need. During this time, I also requested a meeting with Jason Kadow to discuss how we can minimize our taxable income and maximize deductions moving forward. No such meeting was scheduled or acknowledged. For our 2022 taxes, we filed an extension. Keep in mind that we filed this extension via KMA prior to finding out all the errors that were made on our 2021 taxes. I uploaded all my files again via their site but this time insisted on driving 3.5 hours roundtrip to their office to make sure ALL DOCUMENTS were received as to avoid any missed income or deductions as happened on our 2021 taxes. Even though I was told it wasn’t necessary to come in-person, thankfully I insisted. They MISSED SEVERAL documents from the electronic upload. Again, they didn’t seem to think this was something crazy…just thanked me for coming in-person and glad they caught the missed forms."
"I have never dealt with such unprofessionalism! The CPA assigned to our account, Michelle Coder, does not return emails or calls. And when we finally got to talk to someone, they couldn't find our tax file! Which meant they hadn't even started the job! We've been in business for over 25 years and are a small business, who's previous accounting firm was acquired by KMA. They have made us feel so insignificant. We can't wait to switch to our new accountant firm. If you're a small company, forget KMA!"
