"Nice park next to water, but is also prone to the walkways being flooded. Has a nice walk around the ponds and includes a small playground and tennis courts as well. Best to go during summer and fall!"
"It's not a very big park. It became popular recently because of the red leaf of the Metasequoia tree in the pond. One hour before the sunset should be the best time for a photo. BTW, the parking lot is not large. You can park on the street."
"Been here a few times, and it is a nice park but generally a bit unremarkable. However, come to watch the sun rise and you will experience a wholly different park. It's like it was transformed by the rising sun!"
"Beautiful view of trees in the pond, especially in fall. So rich and colorful that looks like a painting.you can either walking, biking, or enjoying the fall here. Restroom, as well as pond and dam is on the one side of parking lot, and the other side is the playground for kids. Water bestows the trees with soul and aura."
"I've been coming here since i was a kid and it's depressing how horrible it is now. There's a spot in the middle that overlooks Grau Pond that has been taken over by homeless people. The paths surrounding this area are full of trash. The bushes are littered with alcohol cans and packaging. The bathrooms near the tennis court are closed a lot. So I have to find a place out of view to do my thing or walk down to the bathroom near the park on Niles Boulevard. Some people don't care about the rules. I don't mind dogs being off leash, but only If they're behaved. People read only the pictures on the signs with park rules and not the text below which gives a more detailed explanation. Wildlife and plants are protected by law, so if your dogs are chasing squirrels and other animals, then your dogs are not under control; it doesn't matter if they're friendly to people or not. Not only that, even if your dogs are under control off leash, you still must have a leash in your possession. There was an elderly man not too long ago letting his two large German shepherds run around and he didn't have a leash or any bags to pick up after his dogs. Even if he didn't have a leash, I doubt he would have been strong enough to not have his dogs drag him down the trail. His dogs were constantly chasing squirrels and running down into the creek. One of them ran up on me and I had no idea what to expect. I will defend myself if I have to. A few years back I saw a dog attack a leashed dog and its owner. The owner of the aggressive dog was about 200 feet away staring down at his phone. The owner who got attacked was yelling at him and the other guy didn't even care. I consider the Alameda creek trail on this side of the creek to be developed even if it is not paved; there are houses near it which are developments and it wouldn't be hard for dogs to run off into the neighborhoods and attack people or their animals. I appreciate the owners who are in possession of a leash and bags to pick up after their dogs; their dogs when off leash are obedient and remain by their side. That's how it should be. If you're not willing to train your dog, then you shouldn't get one. They're not cats. The people who drive the white trucks I assume are park security but I have never seen them do anything about the dog owners who can't control their dogs. I see them on the other side of the creek near the railroad track and never see them go down the side of the paths where no doubt they'll find people illegally fishing, who also trash the area. I don't think the security care. What a tough job... The trash is ridiculous. There's a spot I like to hang out at near Shinn pond that always has empty beer cans and what not. What I find most of are dog feces and discarded fisherman's stuff like empty white containers that hold worms. Why trash your fishing spot? I don't get it. But yeah. The quality of the area has gone down significantly since I was a kid. What a shame. They only thing nice is the nature where it hasn't been littered."
