Reviews of Campus Gas Scooters & Small Engine Service
"If I could give him zero I would. He quoted me 15 a tire on basice ride on electric scooters I only needed one tore done on 3 scooters No communication for days then when he does give me a day I picked my scooters up so dirty and all reflectors damage along with scuffs all over them. Covered in black mechanical suit and laying not on there kick stands but on top of each other. Then he tells me noooo look around you can't see no damage pieces like I was supposed to trust that on all 3 of my scooters in a small area. Plus one was still flat so he told me to leave it there he forgot to air it up and then a week later pushes me to pick it up after he left my new products that I sell in the worst form. I should have known when his shop I'd in a junk yard full of junk and depri and he never contacted after I dropped of. Terrible person Terrible work DO NOT DO IT I had a hard time finding a shop to do small scooter repair but he is trash Never asked me if the price increase was ok nothing charged me way over than he quoted and I should have never paid considering he damaged my 3 scooters and took no responsibility but let the covered in black piled on each other and ALL the reflectors were broken with no competition. Do NOT DO IT"
"Nice guy, very to the point. He came to my apartment and looked at my scooter same day I called him. He couldn’t get it to start so he picked it up the next day. It needed the carburetor cleaned, and it has been working great since. He told me if it acts up again in the next month he will fix it for free. It was a very reasonable price and fast turnaround. I think a lot of the bad reviews are coming from misunderstandings and high expectations. He is not a dealership, it is just one guy working out of a small garage."
"We took our scooter to Duke because he was the only one open on a Monday. If your looking a fancy shop, this isn't it! If you want your stuff fixed at a reasonable price in a decent timetable, good spot."
"Had my scooter for over two weeks. Said there was a part needed for it. Never told me what part. Believe he didn't work on it but for the half hour when I showed up after not being satisfied with him hanging up on me saying multiple times he'd call me. Scooter leaked out coolant when he was done "fixing". Receipt was for $150. Took my credit card number saying he was offline. My card was charged $195. Then that sum was returned. He sent me a text asking how much my scooter repair was. I told him not to charge my card as my scooter was not fixed and wouldn't start. He replied "ok", then charged my card $158.25, forcing me to file a dispute and told me not to worry about it via text."
"If you are a college student looking to get some work done on your moped, I recommend "Campus Gas Scooters & Small Engine Service". Duke, the owner, is very easy to work with and gets right to the point. Don't expect anything flashy here, the experience is nothing like going to a dealership or anything like that. If you are confused about where the shop is actually located (I was), I've attached a screenshot from Google Maps and circled his shop. Duke's shop is above Red Rock and that garage door is where you can enter. Once you arrive, call Duke and let him know you are there. He will then meet you down there to let you in. When it comes to payment, make sure you have cash (or Venmo) as Duke doesn't accept credit/debit cards. Hope this helps anyone looking to get their moped repaired/looked at!"
