Reviews of Belle City Veterinary Hospital
"I would give 5 stars to Dr Ray and Dr Livingston. Dr Ray has been so wonderful as we were dealing with our boy with cancer. Dr Ray was compassionate and kind and gave us all the time we needed. I would give 0 stars to the receptionist on Wednesday 2/28 about 4:30 pm. Our boy decided it was his time to cross the rainbow bridge- whoever answered the phone when we called was rude, short and could have cared less that we were dealing with this situation. I did not get her name, unfortunately. If you can not be understanding to pet owners who are struggling then find a new job! We travelled to Blue Pearl who were compassionate to our needs - you should learn something."
"I loved this vet at one point, but their care isn’t the same since 2020. My cat was dying of mouth cancer, and when I called ahead for a pain shot, I asked if they could also give her some antibiotics. I knew it wouldn’t mean a difference and explained as such. I was watching my best friend pass and I was panicking when I saw pus. I knew it wouldn’t and apologized for how silly I sounded, but was just trying to make her as comfortable as possible. When I brought her in, they all knew me and my cat from how often we’d been there. I explained that I called and about the shots I requested. They took her in back and I sat. While waiting, the one receptionist started laughing with the other receptionist about my call and how stupid I was being. She acted like I wasn’t even there. She spent 5 minutes lambasting me, and when they brought my cat back, I even apologized for how silly I had been. Let’s not forget to mention they overlooked her cancer signs for a year. I kept bringing her in every week about breathing problems for nearly 2 months and they never once considered doing a blood panel for cancer. Found out later it’s the #1 sign. I don’t know if we could’ve saved her then, but the thought that we might have been able to give her better quality of life does weigh on me. On another occasion, I brought my geriatric cat in for general shots and a blood panel. We discussed how she can get pretty crazy at the vet and that I just wanted her checked out and given a sedative pill to come back another time for the shots. They persisted that they should do it that day, but they would still give me the sedative for another panel the next week - which I still have no clue as to why it couldn’t wait. I hesitantly agreed and they took her back. Of course, she was panicking and howling and sounding like a fighting alley cat. They kept her back there for 20 MINUTES (I counted). The whole time she’s wailing and I’m freaking out. The vet assistant even came in to say they were probably going to do it another time because of how she was and I told her that I don’t want them to try anymore, that we’ll just wait until next week. Again, I was told “no” and they’ll get it done. I even insisted that I wasn’t comfortable and wanted to take her home, but no. Obviously, she wasn’t in good shape when they gave her back to me. Avoid this place. They’ve been nothing but trouble for me."
"We brought our dogs in for a wellness check then a week later had them neutered. The vets and techs were so amazing that our dogs were not scared or upset when we came back for a booster Vax and were super excited to see everyone. Also prices were very reasonable."
"Sometimes they can be pretty pricey for some services but best vet in town! Take all of my animals here! Last time I was here I asked for Dr. Livingston but they gave me another doctor I wasn't sure of but he checked over my new dog an even gave me some suggestions on things I didn't even ask him to look at! Also he said my shepherd was the only one that didn't try biting him! Lol"
"Belle city veterinary is the most compassionate experience I’ve ever had. This place cares about their patients not the amount of money they can charge. I trust them completely!!!!"
