Costco Pharmacy

"My experience is usually quick and the people are friendly. But today everyone in the pharmacy went on lunch at the same time for an hour on the busiest day of the week. I didn’t have time to wait an hour so now I have to come back another day to get my prescriptions and epi-pen. I understand wanting to have lunch together (and screw with corporate), but it’s kind of ridiculous for everyone to do it at the same time and close down the pharmacy."

"I’ve been going to this pharmacy for a few years and I do like it a lot better than CVS and Walgreens. I’ve had a few poor experiences with them but I’m giving them 4 stars because today, Sarah was super warm and treat me like a human over the phone, like really kind and approachable. I had a bit of a stressful situation and she was helpful and I did not feel judged or anything. Thank you Sarah for making an annoying phone call much more tolerable ! :)"

"I've honestly never had this bad of an experience with a pharmacy before. Someone in the pharmacy "hit the wrong button" when entering one of my prescriptions. They tried to give me a medication that I have never been prescribed, then blew it off like it wasn't a situation that could potentially kill someone. When I tried to get it straightened out I was met with condescention and contempt, and the office manager from my doctor's office was chewed out and hung up on. I've come to tolerate the overall poor service at this pharmacy because of their prices. But at this point it's just not worth it anymore. If you go in there, be prepared to wait in line for 10-20 minutes before being told to come back in half an hour to wait in line again. That's if you get them on a good day."

"We have used the pharmacy for a few years now and have, overall, had wonderful experiences. The staff is usually friendly and helpful; they are willing to check prices through different options (insurance, GoodRx, and their discount program) and answer any questions you have. There is one pharmacy employee in particular, Catherine, who is constantly helpful and remembers her customers. Yes, they tend to be busy, but it is Costco after all and if you don’t want to stand in line, just time your visits for the slower times of day (I find shortly before closing during the week days is always best). Their prescription discount program for members has come in helpful on several occasions. They don’t control negotiated prices of the medications, that is all way over their reach. This is why I find it helpful that they are willing to help you find the cheapest option. They more recently started having some of their prescriptions shipped in, which can delay getting them. The ones that are shipped come in plastic bags which I’m not a big fan of because it is such a waste of plastic. Again, I’m pretty sure this is not something in the control of this particular pharmacy, but it is still one downside it using it. Overall, we have been very pleased with this pharmacy and will likely continue to use them for some time to come."
