Reviews of Newton Canyon Falls
"Not sure if I found the right trail, but there were tons of really cool flowers and it was βt too difficult of a hike."
"Great Hike! After rains the water has been flowing beautifully.Great for kids. Waterfall is very accessible to climb and get under. There's spots on the trail where you walk under trees giving you a fresh jungle vibe.Highly recommend in Spring before summer heat dries up everything."
"Short hike but you can keep going if you are looking for more. Sadly you'll find that the water has caught some material that you'll find along the stream. The hike to the photo I posted is a steep hike down and dangerous. I had poles with me and hiking boots. Wear big repellant for mosquitos and be aware of poison oak. Overall it is a nice place to getaway and you can find yourself along if you hike further out. At this time you can spot wildflower. And remember LEAVE NO TRACE ONLY FOOTPRINTS"
"Perhaps only flows after it rains??? It was dry when I visited and there is no marked trail down to the falls area, but easy to see where it is. There are lots of signs asking you to stay on trail and you are going to need to bushwhack your way down... since there was no water up top, I skipped the off trail adventure. Would be nice if there was an actual trail to the falls..."
"Great hike. Went on 02/20/17 right after the rain. There were two waterfalls on the Backbone Trail, literally on opposite ends. Absolutely worth it! Would definitely recommend long pants and long sleeves because you will occasionally go through thick shrubbery."
