Nimbus Flat State Recreation Area

"There is so much to see and do at the Nimbus Dam area. There is the dam itself, Lake Natoma, the Sacramento State Aquatic Center, and the Nimbus Fish hatchery, which is right across Hazel avenue. You could easily spend an entire day checking out these locations."

"Its a great place for a quick recharge.The lake view is beautiful with hills on the other side. Here sun set is amazing in summers."

"Great fun! Bring your paddle boards and kayaks. Lots of birds, some deer and turtles to see. There are coves to explore when the water is higher. People are chill and very nice. Love this place ❤️ Plenty of parking and if you go often or use the bike trails, the Poppy pass pays for itself. Bike trail goes to historic Folsom only about 6-8 miles round trip."

"Love this place! Great for young children and dogs. I love taking my dog paddle boarding here. The water is very calm and there’s a lot of shallow water for young children to play around in. Parking is $10. There’s always ample parking when I’ve gone on both weekends and weekdays. Love that there are life guards and also life jackets for those who don’t have one and would like to go into the water. The aquatic center is adjacent to this area so you can easily rent kayaks and SUPs too. There’s also picnic areas to BBQ which I saw a lot of people do with their families. Such a gem of a place!"

"We went on a Friday since 5pm. It wasn't crowded but there are plenty of people around. Lifeguards on duty. Clean beach. Geese weren't overly aggressive. Great first experience and we'll be back soon!"
