Reviews of Lake Miramar
"Great loop for strolls and biking. For those on a bike or board, mindful of others and don’t be an idiot and fly through the loop."
"Convenient, flat, easy, accessible, plenty of parking most of the time, in the middle of city...."
"Beautiful lake that allows non motorized boats and kayaks on. No paddleboards or dogs allowed in lake. You can rent kayaks, boats, and bikes at their little concession stand. Paved 5 mile trail/road with markers every ½ mile around the lake. Two lane road only goes all around the lake. There's a lower dirt trail about ¾ around the lake before it hooks back up to the road for the last mile."
"This is a great lake with fantastic place to see and feed different species of birds. There is a 5 mile loop around the lake which is excellent for walking and cycling. There are tables and benches as well as barbecue grills for having picnic. I would say this is the perfect location for a family day out on a sunny day. I would come here early to find a nice spot and a parking place, which can be a problem on the weekends. It is a great place to see."
"I have stayed in San Diego for many years now, but had always postponed plans to visit Miramar Lake cause it’s always near by and used to think I’ll visit someday. And that someday finally arrived. I went there today, and was thoroughly surprised! It has a calm atmosphere, peaceful rather. I went there around 1 PM and parking was a little hard to find. It took me one and a half hours to complete the trail. It offered some beautiful views of the lake and towards the end, you get to know all on the dam. I’m happy I finally visited this beautiful, peaceful place! You get bike there, also it’s pet friendly. Highly recommend this place on a Sunday afternoon!"
