"Please BEWARE!!! There are regular car break-ins! My truck has been hit twice, both times in the afternoon in broad daylight while I was fishing. I have a photo of the perp and his buddy's Ford Explorer. Every other time that I went to the parking lot, I would see a new spot of broken glass."
"Great place. Keep your eyes open though. Rattlesnakes on the trails, Bobcats are in the brush and coyotes sneak up behind you."
"Loved it, was it the best trail I've ever done, no, but at 1 mile, this is a great one for kids and families and dog walks, or a short jog. The topography is cool, water views, lots of flowers, not too much incline, new fences, bench, dog stations, and access to fish."
"Nice, serene place for a quick break from the busy life. Fishing was better for practice than actually landing anything, there's a lot of reeds and obstacles in the water. No facilities onsite and the path down to the southeast shore was a bit sketchy. Great for individuals, pairs, novice anglers, and dog walkers, but I wouldn't bring little kids here."
"This is a beautiful, brand new park that opened this week in San Marcos! The parking lot is a small one, but it has a few wheelchair accessible parking spots at the start of the trail. The trail itself is a mile around the lake, flat ground, tightly packed dirt/gravel. There isn't too much shade on the trail, so come prepared for the sun and heat. You can bring your dog but keep them on a leash, and please do not bring them when it's hot outside...the ground gets hot and burns their paws. It's very quiet and peaceful out here. I really love it. You can also fish if you want! It's legal!"
