"It’s a very well kept, manicured as expected, serene, almost perfectly quiet place to not only see remarkable plants/trees kept in pristine condition but it provides ideas on how you’d possibly like to have a similar version on your own property. They are also Military/veteran friendly as you will be given free entrance. The only strange thing in my mind, is that there are no plants for sale at the gift shop. After we spent time here we walked to the botanical garden across the street entering at the North Entrance, eventually finding the botanical gift shop and locating some plants/trees for sale to remember our trip. Great experience!"
"Very well kept garden, beautiful space. Other visitors were quiet and respectful. We were just a little too early for spring blooms but there was still lots of color, I bet it will be gorgeous in just a few weeks. Paths were easy to walk and clean/clear. I'm not quite sure it was worth $15/person considering the size though. Maps were an extra cost too."
"FYI, it can be a little difficult to maneuver with a stroller so i advise leaving it in your vehicle or at the ticketing area which is what the gentleman told me who took our tickets. i didn't have much high expectations but i was truly amazed and at ease when we visited this hidden gem of a garden. it's so big in what seems like such a small area but they have a ton of stuff packed inside. we saw beautiful trees, bridges, japanese buildings and just an overall calming area which seemed very quiet and relaxing even though the rest of the park is extremely busy. i advise you to double check the time that they open and close because we went right before sun down and it was very enjoyable with not too much of a crowd. lastly, i highly suggest ordering some of the tea at the small building near the entrance as it was delicious and piping hot when they served it."
"Amazing Oasis in a beautiful park. This is a great place to visit and feel like you were transported right to Japan. It is a very relaxing place for a stroll. The garden is not huge though. It took us about 45 minutes to see the whole garden. They have beautiful water features and a fun bridge to climb up and over. It is a great exemplar of various Japanese garden styles. Admission is $14 for adults although there are discounts for students, children, and San Francisco residents get in for free."
