Reviews of Skyline Wilderness Park
"I go for trail runs in this fantastic park when visiting family in Napa. Most trails have consistent, medium grades with some switchbacks. Trail surface is mostly dirt with some areas of rocks. The old fire road is a great alternative to the more technical trails. Views are spectacular and include panoramic views of the park itself, Napa valley, and even the Bay. Beautiful mix of eucalyptus, olive, and oaks trees. Frequent wildlife sitings."
"Great quick hiking area, lots of mountain bikers, so be aware with kids. Nice views from the top, also nice camping and diskgolf areas."
"I was at the park with the SCA event (intent search SCA medieval reenactment) and found the park to be beautiful. I took a small hiking but the place has many miles to explore. Plenty of wildlife especially birds with a healthy population of turkeys. The park staff is great. Nice and courteous. Highly recommend to exploring the park. Rumor has it, developers want to develop in the land for low income housing. Say no! Go support this park!!"
"Excellent park and would come here again. This is a great spot to go hiking if you are here on a long weekend and need to kill some time before heading out to wineries. Parking is $6 for cars up to something like 8 people. Cards are accepted. I only hiked here, but there are other facilities including RV camping, tent camping, dog run, mountain biking, and disc golf. Note that dogs are not welcome on trails but are okay in the camping sections of the park. A full end to end hike of the park around the perimeter trails will take upwards of 5-6 hours. The Western trails are a mixture of wooded and exposed trails. Eastern trials are really exposed and can be VERY steep in sections - I would attempt these only if you are in very good shape and have lots of water. Trails down the center of the park are a little more forgiving for those with children. Trails are probably not suitable for those with strollers. Great views and would come here again if I'm in the area."
