"Tim Kruse (Kruse Acquisitions) was recommended by a 35-year best friend of mine (who's also my CPA) when I sought counsel/assistance in selling my small Human Resources (HR) consulting practice as I transitioned to retirement. I had owned and operated the very successful 35 year old practice for the past 20 years. The practice was in the very narrow and highly specialized HR niche of Affirmative Action (AA) & Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), and our clients were high-end, mainstream federal contractors who had related ongoing/annual AA & EEO obligations, and were subject to i) myriad stringent/complex federal regulations/policies and reporting requirements, and ii) random complex federal audits. From our initial introductory conversation, Tim was absolutely outstanding to work with. An expert in business sales/mergers/acquisitions, he was always very professional, knowledgeable, thorough, patient, available, personable/friendly, and always with a good sense of humor -- a perfect fit for my needs re: counsel/assistance in selling my practice. It's critical to note, to my knowledge, that Tim had never previously assisted a business/practice of my type in either the HR or AA/EEO niche. However, that was never an issue or hindrance, as from Day 1 we simply combined his expertise re: selling a business with my knowledge and expertise of my very specialized HR business niche. Tim was very thorough and efficient in laying out an initial detail process/plan to seek/attract a number of potential buyers, and we then worked together to tailor, fine-tune and finalize it based on my niche knowledge/expertise. We received roughly 9-10 inquiries of interest from potential buyers; thoroughly vetted and personally coordinated with roughly 6-7 of those firms; and then further narrowed to 4 firms for the formal proposal/negotiation process -- 3 of the 4 were large, national leaders in the industry niche, which was my preference. Since my narrow business niche was unique to Tim's experience, he crafted/tailored a unique plan for fairly valuing the business, and for the subsequent proposal/negotiation process, and he fully handled ALL aspects of those processes, keeping me apprised at every step and seeking my input/opinion throughout. In the end, we sold to a top national leader in the industry niche for a value at/above what we had planned/anticipated. Lastly, it's also critical to note that the entire successful process with Tim was accomplished "at distance" -- we never met face-to-face (I was located on the West coast and Tim was located in Wisconsin), nor did either of us meet face-to-face with any of the potential buyers, who were spread across the country.
