"Mr Welch was not at all communicative and failed to meet every deadline he set. We were told our taxes would be finished by March 15 2022 but that came and went and no word from him despite multiple calls and messages. We finally got some communication on April 15 telling us we needed to pay estimated taxes and that he was filing for an extension but assured us they'd be done by May. Several attempts were made throughout May June and July to get any sort of communication as to the status of our taxes with absolutely no success until we finally heard at the end July that he'd been out sick for a week and that's why our taxes were over 3 months late, but still no word as to an estimated completion date. We did not hear from anyone until the third week of August when we were finally able to file even though we made regular attempts to make contact. That same day we recieved an IRS letter that we did not understand and thought it might be a scam so we reached out to him and he assured us he would look into it but we never heard back from him. We even signed a power of attorney to allow him to speak with the IRS on our behalf. That never happened. As the deadline in the letter approached, again we left several messages and when we finally got through to the office number, the receptionist informed us he was out of the office until after the deadline stated in the letter. I would avoid Mr Welch and his associates like the plague if I were you. I will be having my taxes reviewed by a competent accountant to see what other mistakes he made."

"I trusted Clay to do my taxes and prepare my bookkeeping. This year I had some changes in my personal life and in my business which required an alternative tax filing than in previous years. I instructed Clay to submit my taxes with the information I had provided to him. He refused to do so and instead gave my personal tax information to a third party which was used against me in court. He gave this information to a friend of his that was trying to get additional information about me to use in court. Very unethical and very unprofessional. I terminated my business with him and have reported him to the appropriate authorities in hopes that his ability to continue doing taxes for others will be terminated. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else."
