"Watch out for Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation issues."
"Twenty-six years ago, 1992, chronic mylogenic leukemia entered our life. Speaking first hand, leukemia is a tough disease, bone marrow transplants (especially in 1992) were tough treatments and the outcomes/ recovery was not easy. My wife had attended nursing school with persons that by 1992 were in higher level positions at the hospital where I was being treated. Each of these medical professionals advised that Mary Horowitz would be their doctor of choice for the treatment of leukemia as well as any other blood related disease. It has been an absolute blessing to have Dr. Horowitz on our medical team through these many years. Her wisdom, knowledge, skills and dedication to her patients and profession is beyond outstanding. Additionally, she has a tremendous personality, an ability to bring calm to the storm and an incredible devotion to her family and community. People some times think it is humorous when I discuss some of the very rich blessings that came from my family’s visit with leukemia. Some include that I am not allowed to mow the grass on our lawn, I get to park my car in specially marked oversized spaces close to the front door of stores, after my hair fell out from the chemo and radiation it grew back into a soft and curly white hair that my wife absolutely loves, other people that have recently been diagnosed with leukemia are able to poke and prod me to see for themselves that there is life after leukemia and this list goes on. At the end of the day there are some very special blessings that have come from our visit and defeat of leukemia. The first and number one reminder is that the Christian God that I beleave is all powerful, knowing and cares deeply for all of us (that means you and me too). The second is that this same God blessed me with an incredible and loving wife/family and the third has been getting to know and have Mary Horowitz on our medical team. So, simply put thanks Dr. Horowitz, you’re the best!"
