"Just got cut off by one of your bus drivers. We had the right away, he continued to drive causing us to slam on our brakes meanwhile I’m pregnant 30 weeks right now. Please tell your team to be more careful when driving during the rain. Bus 21."
"If I could give negative stars I would. As I'm walking across the road waving my hands to get on the bus, the bus after stopping for a total of 10 seconds DRIVES OFF! Now, I've given myself extra time, so I'm not late. 25 minutes later, still no bus. I've been written up at work in the past due to this incompetent behaviour by the drivers, and now I miss appointments for medical treatment because of it. Nice job Rochester Public Transportation..."
"Buses will show up and leave between 10 and 20 minutes late! Or they may not show up at all. I try to make my early bus every morning, which only shows up half the time. Fun right?! Well you better like it, because you work downtown, and nobody will ever love you."
"I recently just moved to Rochester for work and took public transit my first day. I ended up leaving my wallet on the bus, only realizing after the fact in the late evening. To my relief, after a quick phone call to their office, the staff had not only found my wallet, but would be in office till 11 pm! Really friendly service and I’m thankful for their thorough bus sweeps and broad open hours!"
"The RPT bus drivers seem to have serious problems seeing the color of the traffic lights. They do not understand that red lights mean stop, repeatedly turning left when the light is RED for them and GREEN for oncoming traffic. Have had over a dozen separate incidents just this summer alone, sometimes it does appear it is the same driver, but sometimes they're too far away to tell for sure. I've spoken to officers who say there is no special exemption for city transit to turn left on red, forcing oncoming traffic to brake or veer out of the way. And in June I saw the same bus driver turn left onto another street and cut off a pedestrian in the middle of the crosswalk. This behavior also encourages other selfish and poor drivers to attempt to cut across traffic with the bus at the same time - incredibly rude and also dangerous. I was told to start calling in and reporting this aggressive and dangerous behavior with my dash camera video footage every time they do it. The minimum fee for this violation is $300 but that escalates pretty quickly when it is a bus driver, including suspension of license. For anyone else reading this who is sick of slamming on your brakes, just to let a city bus swerve in front, please report them if you can - Rochester is aware this is a problem and they need footage and bus numbers to try to do something about it."
