Reviews of Santa Claus Beach
"Not busy. Clean. Enough parking. Nice beach"
"Very pristine and so secluded, way less people on the beach as opposed to Santa Barbara beaches. Lots of sandpipers, dolphins, pelicans and beautiful surroundings to look at. One of our all-time favorites."
"After lunch at Padaro Beach Grill (see other posts on that little gem), we strolled down to Santa Claus Beach. With the namesake of the Jolly Ol' Elf himself, how could it go wrong? Fairly easy access but did require climbing over the rocks that abutt the shore and separate it from the trail and Surfliner train tracks. I spotted a woman who was about 6 months pregnant safely traverse the rocks as well as a couple who appeared to be in their late 60s or early 70s. No one seemed affected so I figured I should be up to the 4ask, as well. Getting from the trail, that ran directly off the road, to the beach, took about 3 minutes. No big deal. Once on the beach, it was spectacular. No bugs or sand flies, no trash, no bad smells, and the sand was clean, fine, and soft. The water temp was not bad and I'd have gone all in had I planned ahead and brought change of clothes. Best of all, no crowds or raucous groups. It was divine."
"Did an over nighter here. The first day was exceptionally nice, got some swimming in, chilled a while with some people who were wind surfing, and a guy who was here from Africa. The following day was a Friday, I'm glad that I was up before 7 for another nice swim, because the place was almost packed by 10 am, with hordes of those (look at me, I'm important) people - they almost all scampered off though, when the rains hit mid afternoon, so it was chill again."
"This was our first time on this beach last Saturday, and it was not very crowded. There is limited parking and we had to cross a railroad track to go a few steps to the beach. There is a beautiful beach house and the beach was nice. It’s just interesting to see the train pass."
