"The office layout does not provide for adequate security when dealing with personal information. The partitions offer no confidentiality, and when there are several people completing tax returns, voices carry in such a small space. Of note, are certain questions asked by the tax preparer of the clients (confirming names, address, date of birth, telephone numbers). I mention this as most people would not give it a second thought, but I was able to hear everything in the cubicle next to my wife and I."

"I was totally misled about the refund advance. I went to H&R Block specifically for the refund advance service knowing i was going to get a good return this year. Once my taxes were completed and i was going to be getting a $4300 return i was told i should be getting a $3000 advance on my return but i was only approved for a $500 advance. I normally do my own taxes but because of the advance service i decided to give H&R Block a try and I'll never make that mistake again. No one in their right mind would pay $228.00 just so they could get a $500 advance on their refund but the catch to the refund advance is you can't find out what you are approved for until after you've paid. And that brings me to my next gripe. This year i had more w2s than usual but i don't itemize my deductions so other than a little more data entry my taxes are as simple as it gets and $228.00 is a ridiculous price to pay when there are softwares out there like turbo tax that make doing your own taxes so easy."
