"I have gone to Liberty Tax Standford Ranch Rocklin for years and never had a problem. I always had great service until now. I recently got newly married and wanted to file married, but separate. I was convinced by Del Tuller to let him look into my new husband's taxes, to see what was best, to file separate or together. There was no mention of a fee to this action, there was just encouragement to move forward and I could pick "what's best" for myself and or as us/couple, as a family after presentation. The the file cost of service of that choice would follow. We went over both, I decided that the minor amount in savings as a couple was counter balanced in the increased amount charged in the service of filing. Like, I was told, I had a choice and I choose to stick with the original filling married separate. In speaking with family, my oldest son decided to do my taxes for me. At this time I gave well in advance to Del Tuller that I had decided to cancel my service. I was met with unprofessional tone of response, over the phone, then coming in to collect my file in person. I was ask to proceed to sit down as, I was needed to be talked to (like a child at 56 yrs old) as to how disgruntled he was, how much time was invested in this process. I understood, but, also felt pressured in this experience and all just because I changed my mind. I told him I have been a customer for years, but after today more than likely i will not be returning to do business in the future. At that time he had by now repeated more than twice, that his time/effort was worth something and that he was going to proceed to charge me $50 for his services even though we did not proceed with Liberty. I told him I understood his worth, but I didn't ask you/him initially to do what he did, you asked me to check into it. It was at this time this full discussion was in front of other staff and clientele, which I feel was unprofessional in my eyes. I asked for my file, which he pulled out and wrote on the top, as I was a "walk out", which I was not. I proceeded to give my card for payment, but was a bit surprised to see him take a min to find a reason to put into the system for this charge, but made it happen. I left very upset and disheartened in this experience, I don't feel I deserved this type of customer service. I feel like if communication of procedures was better layed or customer service had been handled better would have had a better out come. All he had to say, was thank you for being a long time customer, we appreciate your business and sorry we could not serve you today. Although, because there was time put in, there is a $50 service fee today. Like I said this soured my visit and will not go back."
