"I tried H&R block for the first time ever, and I'm extremely disappointed. The person who did our taxes at the La Habra office, made a mistake that triggered a letter from uncle Sam. Tax season over, that office is closed; H&R gave us an appointment at the Garden Grove office. For starters, Stella Deras was rude and condescending from the get go. She started making inaccurate statements even before she read the letter and before she even looked at how we did our taxes with my wife. Next, she asked if we had paid for some sort of "insurance" in case we got a letter. We said, no, it was never offered to us. She fired back: "it's offered to everybody" , implying that we were lying. We don't need to lie lady! And, why would we have to "buy insurance" in case you guys screw up??? She said we would have to pay an additional $99.00 for them to reply to the IRS with the info needed. I asked her why we'd have to pay if it was their mistake. She got all weird and defensive. I'm not someone that takes lightly being mistreated after paying good money ($480.00) to have our taxes done incorrectly. I got up and told her to forget about it. I told her I'd handle it myself or pay someone else to take care of it. She's lucky my wife was present or I would've given her a piece of my mind. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Don't believe all these fake positive reviews. Thank you for reading."
