She’s the worst and so are her assistance. wow should I add the fact that she cost me close to $1000 more due to her inability to do her job? She sucks so bad. She won’t even send me a copy of my tax return."

"Definitely DO NOT Recommend: I filed a complaint with the CA Board of Accountancy against Slade & Company because the negligence with which they handled my account (specifically my amended federal 2019 tax return), cost me $7,435.00 + interest. I hired William Slade because he was recommended to me by friends when I was in search of a tax professional. I supplied all requested documents to the firm’s portal nearly 9 months in advance of the filing deadline. If Mr. Slade had prepared my amended 2019 return when I first hired him, or even after the numerous, subsequent times I asked for an update - instead of just always assuring me that “everything was on track and that I’d receive something from him shortly,” the IRS would have received it in plenty of time. However, he chose not to begin working on my account until just days away from the filing deadline. Because of his negligence and the untimely handling of my account, the IRS rejected my substantial refund claim, stating that “the amended return was not timely filed.” When I reached out to Slade & Company providing them with this rejection notice and asking if I had any recourse, they never responded. Additionally, in my first meeting with Mr. Slade, I asked about his fee, whether it was hourly or a flat rate. He quoted me a flat rate that would include preparing my 2022 tax return AND reviewing my past returns for 2019-2021 + filing any needed amendments. He also said it would include phone check-ins for any questions. But he failed to note this in my file or pass along to his staff. When I called his office to talk to him about my account status, I was told I would be charged $375/hr. to speak with him. When I got through to him, I informed him of this, and he assured me that I would not be charged. And I was not. When he finally worked on my account, he prepared my 2022 return first, so his assistant sent me a bill which totaled the amount Mr. Slade had quoted me originally. After he prepared my 2019 amended returns, his assistant told me that I owed another amount equal to the fee already charged for the 2022 return. I informed her of what Mr. Slade had quoted me and asked her to please check with him. She did, and he confirmed the original amount. They also switched document upload portals in the middle of this which was another fiasco. This whole experience was stressful, frustrating, and costly. Beware."
