"We have an outdoor patio fireplace that had been giving us trouble for a few years and reach out to GIV HVAC whom handles our Heating and Air Conditioning. While, they don't service fireplaces, I asked Igor to come out and take a look. He came out on time and reviewed the unit in detail. He explained that there are 2-D cell batteries behind the switch that have to be updated periodically as they may run out of juice. He also showed me the thermistor and explained that it's used to detect if the fireplace overheats. There's a very small reset button on the back of the thermistor which needs to be pressed (at times even when loose - press hard). He was able to provide insight into the unit maintenance as well as things to look at should I have trouble in the future. Professional. Thorough. Knowledgeable.
