"Our dishwasher broke and Alex came out to give us an estimate. The part needed to be replaced, they charged over $400 to fix it (dishwasher originally cost $700, only three years old, now out of warranty). For labor alone, he charged $150 when all he did was remove a panel and replace the control board. This took him all of 10 minutes. But then he stood and let the dishwasher run a cycle, so charged me for the time that took as well. After Alex replaced the panel, he pushed the dishwasher back in on the hose, kinking the metal to where it restricted the flow of water. But he said the dishwasher worked, so I signed off on the order. When we tried to use the dishwasher, it would not fill, so we called him back in to look at it. He claimed that the manufacturer skimped on the hose and it was build up within the hose. He said it would be $75 to replace it and that was with a discount on his service call. He went to the store, got another hose and put it in, then showed me how kinked the hose was, but said it was like that before he got there, that it was in no way his fault. His bill was $96.80. When I asked why it was more than the $75 he quoted, he said that was just the service call charge and it was discounted by $10. Would not use this service again. I feel that Alex knew it was his fault, I could see it in his eyes. But he would not even discuss that, insisting it was the manufacturer's fault for using a cheap hose (the hose is the exact same type that Alex replaced it with)."
