"AWESOME GYM- it's enormous! So many different rooms and pretty diverse too. I try to go at lunch when it's less busy and can always get in a lane to swim."
"Just a friendly ⚠️ warning*potential danger up ahead⚠️ I believe I've been discriminated against severely based on my race/gender & disability status. My membership got cancelled because the manager "doesn't want me to renew" I was always noticing the staff seemed to hover and get in the way of me enjoying the amenities. So glad other places are available to visit. Horrible staff caused me to feel as if they don't like/ are looking down on a POC. I'm traveling and needed a place to do my pt online work and bathe and they were a terrible hassle to be around and made me feel unsafe. Wish I'd never went here in the first place⚠️"
"I’ve been a member of this gym for many years- I joined for the pool, the only indoor heated pool and Alameda. It’s fairly clean members and employees are pretty friendly and fairly respectable. This place has had many changes, over the years, after Covid it became under new management and ownership- So of course, the gym membership and fees have changed. I saw a lot of mixed reviews and thought I would leave my own point of view. They do have a lot of free classes included with your membership. Some downfalls: Yes, Their equipment is somewhat old but it’s usable. Wish they would hire more or better housekeeping, employees, to keep the gym / locker room cleaner- It’s not filthy, but a little more disinfecting in the locker rooms. Would not hurt. since Covid the hours have changed a little disappointed with that. I do like the dry sauna, and a steam room and a private hot tub in the locker rooms aside from the public hot tub near the swimming pool area. Overall, it’s okay! This Gym it’s not bad. I have visited other gyms around the area, not as clean, not much equipment and not indoor heated swimming pools."
"The assistant manager made me feel threatened then told me to leave because I was washing my socks in the sink of the ladies locker room. She was horribly aggressive and made me feel threatened so I didn't argue and told her to not renew my membership. She was downright scary and was making body language and verbal ques that she was not just telling me I was breaking a rule but I was sure she was going to punch me?!?!? Then the male staff at the front desk insults me so I definitely don't recommend it to anyone disabled I believe she would have hit me if I didn't leave but it wasn't worth it @ all (to argue). She got extremely close to me and started yelling @ me loudly she seemed racist in all her ways as well because I'm native American perhaps she felt the need to behave the way she did."
"I use the pool the most and LOVE Michelle's aqua classes. I also take as many of Michelle's other classes as possible which are popular so they are not in danger of being cancelled but...new instructors are always in danger of being cancelled if they don't have more than 10 people in the class. One of my favorite classes was canceled this week because she could not guarantee 10 people per class but the gym does not advertise the classes. They say that they post on Facebook and Instagram but they don't. They leave it up to the instructors. Why! It is a gym, they should advertise. They don't want to spend the money to market. Kamisha's class was so fun and a breath of fresh air at theIf there was another pool that I could join close by I would leave Alameda family Fitness."
