About the Business
The Santa Ana College Financial Aid Office, located at 1530 West 17th Street in Santa Ana, California, is dedicated to helping students make their education more affordable. Our team is here to assist you in navigating the various federal and state student aid programs available to help cover the costs of your schooling. From the California College Promise Grant to Federal Pell Grants and Direct Loan programs, we can help you find the financial assistance you need to pursue your educational goals without the burden of excessive costs.
We recommend that students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible, starting on October 1st of each year for the following fall semester. This allows for ample processing time to ensure that funds are available for payment. Our office will also notify you if any additional documentation is required to complete your financial aid application.
To expedite the process, we encourage students to submit their FAFSA online at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. Santa Ana College is part of the Rancho Santiago Community College District and is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges. We are committed to ensuring equal access to education and have policies in place to address any discrimination or harassment complaints. "I would give 0 stars if I could. Dealing with their financial aid office has made me want to change schools which I’ll be doing this next semester. 90% of the time you call their is no answer and I’ve been trying to get help since September. It’s now November and they have managed to ruin my financial aid. I called to make sure I would be receiving and they said yes after not getting my grants they would give me a new task everytime and the responses would be so late I missed another disbursment. They’re also extremely rude and don’t seem to know much information as they place you on hold and come back with NO answers. I would never recommend this school to anyone. Absolutely not okay how you treat students trying to succeed."
"They never answer the phone during their open hours what do the staff get paid for ??? If they ain’t doing there job right it doesn't make any sense"
"Very slow and incompetent. Any other community college’s financial aid dept is not run this poorly."
"They couldnt give me my full SSCG amount ($4000) because they couldnt wait for my professor to send them my other 4 credits I needed to get the grant which was 15 units needed. I told them to wait for my professor to submit it so I could have the 15 credits in total. On my end the credits went through but for some reason they completely ignored it and went ahead and submitted it before it got to them. I called them five times to make sure this wouldnt happen. And they still messed it up. The best part was that they got the remaining credits a few hours after. So there goes about 383 hours of my life ill never get back and $2100 down the drain. Thanks guys !"
"They made a mistake on my application so I have been denied proper aid. They won’t even call me by my first name. They made an appointment today and completely flaked. Ashley Alacantar is a terrible employee and has completely disregarded students like we are trash. Someone needs to audit this school. Filed a complaint with the community colleges of ca. I guess I’m just going to have to abandon my dreams of going back to school."
