Reviews of Orange Belt Mineralogical Society
"Little shop. Has most of what is needed but needs some new stuff, aka, the saw blades, sanding belts, etc. Can still work with what is there."
"Orange Belt is a wonderful rock club! The folks at the shop are very welcoming and happy to show newbies the ropes and the shop fee is the most reasonable around. I love it here!"
"Great shop, friendly and helpful people, superb fieldtrips! Fun and safe place for families, especially the kids. Affordable. Very worthwhile!"
"This place is amazing! I almost did not go due to one of the reviews but I'm glad I did!! That being said yes I'm one of the only younger people (27) but everyone was welcoming and super helpful! I joined that day and plan to stay! They have many wonderful trips and events that I can't wait to experience and be a part of! Plenty of equipment! The price is definitely affordable! So much so that I will be making donations during the year because I plan to be there ALOT! And I want to pay my equipment dues, I'm sure you can imagine the upkeep must be expensive for everyone to use! If your into creating with rocks, jewelry making, or collecting minerals yourself this is definitely a spot you want to check out!! Thanks for being so helpful and welcoming!"
"Ambushes its members, will not follow its by-laws regarding board member expulsion (notifiying the board member in question of potential vote) and violates federal law regarding mining claims. If you have children DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE for a rockhound group, and if you're an adult, do so at your own risk. They also slander and lie about their members, and I have notarized testimonies from club members that show different words from the same members. Quite plain and simple, this group is not to be trusted. Find another club if you're under the age of 55. You are not welcome here, and if you do anything that changes their comfort level, you'll be LIED ABOUT to high-ranking lifetime club members so they can make a 75% vote to get rid of you. This club is a complete disgrace to the entire California Mineralogical Society."
