Reviews of Bitter Root Pottery
"This place was so much fun! I took my partner to the beginner's class as a date night and we had so much fun! The staff were really friendly and helpful. The instructor was good at teaching and often helped when one of us had trouble. Highly recommend for a group event or a date niggt"
"If I could I would give this place a rating of 3.5 overall. The pros of coming here is the rooftop view and our instructor was great in teaching us how to do pottery. I overall had a great learning experience. We came to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday which was a pretty cool way to celebrate. They do provide apron and tools for you. They also provide tripods for you to film yourself which I appreciated Here are the cons. 1. I feel like their system needs a lot updating. When you come in for your class schedule, the other class is still working. So one class ends at 1pm and the other class starts at 1pm. There is no buffer time in between which I think they desperately need. It feels overwhelming when you see people waiting for you and the pressure to hurry up cleaning. I’d highly recommend for them to add a 15 minute buffer time between classes. 2. They also make you clean your stations and wash all the things you use. I don’t have a big problem with helping to clean, but for a $90 dollar experience and seeing people rush you to wash your things it’s not a good way to end the session. Again, a 15 minute buffer would help so that their employees can help the instructor clean and prep for the next time can help resolve this problem. 3.Their communication in regards to the firing process is inconsistent. On the website, it says the firing process takes 4-5 weeks, but then on another part of the website it says 7-8 weeks. I also feel like the way they keep record of who’s pottery is who is flimsly and very easy to lose track of. They have you write your name and contact info on a small piece of paper and then leave it on your pottery. I honestly felt like they are going to lose my paper and I wouldn’t be surprised if they accidentally misplaced someone’s pottery too. I also tried calling for an update and their voicemail is full. Overall the teaching and actual doing of the pottery was good to me overall a 4/5. But the logistics side of this business is not making it a fun experience. If they can clean up that aspect of their business then I’d be more confident recommending people here"
"We had an amazing time and enjoyed the experience a lot. We will definitely be back. Our instructor, Elias, explained things very well and was very patient. I highly recommend this place for a fun event with friends or a date day."
"Went for their rooftop beginner class and had the best time! The rooftop is such a beautiful, serene space with a gorgeous view and our instructor Hannah was exceptional. she provided such thorough guidance with so much patience and encouragement to everyone taking the class!"
"What a great experience! My daughter and I wanted to try something new, so we decided to try a pottery class. We googled pottery classes, and Bitter Root popped up! When we went, we did have difficulty finding parking but did find a spot on the street. When we entered, I loved the vibe of the place. It felt like we were going to get dirty and make a mess, which I was down for. We were greeted and helped right away. My daughter and I put our aprons on and picked a spot to sit. The class had about maybe 10/12 other people there. It was small, which I enjoyed. Our instructor was super friendly and very, very patient. She went step by step and stopped to help when needed. The whole experience was very great, especially experiencing it with my daughter. It took about 3-4 weeks for our masterpieces to be ready. We were so anxious about how the final look of our bowls would turn out. I finally received a call that our items were ready to be picked up. My daughter and I were surprised at how great our boo turned out! So worth the wait! We will definitely come back."
