"Honestly, where do I even start? The financial aid has probably pulled more excuses on why they couldn’t provide me with aid during the summer quarter going even as far that the “federal government” has to process my aid. I waited 2 whole months to get any aid, two whole months where I couldn’t pay my rent or basic necessities. The amount of times I called over the phone and zoom, were the same advisors kept saying “come back next, it be processed by then”. I went in person TWICE thereafter back to back days, and finally after the end of 2 summer sessions did the rest of my aid disburse. You better hope you’re not born poor and deal with frustration of not getting any support with FAFSA at UCSD."
"I'm starting to wonder if the school really cares about the students. They're slow and keep saying they don't have enough people to help. I wish they would stop building new buildings and instead hire more staff to actually help students who need help."
"Never available. UCSD needs to better support their staff with all the money they're taking from students. All this money and they have students homeless, living out of their cars. But they have dining dollars! What a joke."
"I am not sure about the rest of the school, but their financial aid office is absolutely horrible trying to get into contact with and if I could give this 0 stars I would. However, there was one nice staff member that I was able to finally talk to who helped me as much as she could. But Aside from that, no one here is helpful or even cares to really help students. Also even some of the staff from other departments just refer you to department after department and you still will not have an answer to your problem or situation. It's a complete waste of time and this is by far the worst school I have ever dealt with when it comes to trying to contact anyone. Perhaps, most of the faculty and staff need some serious training especially in customer service as some of the staff members are even just straight up rude."
