Reviews of A.C.pool
"I paid for a pool and jacuzzi with 1200 sqft of deck to be installed by Armando. Started well, ditches were dug well, then everything else was a comedy of semi-competent-to-criminally-negligent errors and 2-4 times rework for all aesthetic details. As if everything was being done by the team for the first time and it was just a learning adventure at my expense. Highlights: kept asking for warranty cards for the “new” pumps, then on the last day of the job, by asking very very directly, I learned the pumps were old rusty, very much used and repainted and was asked to simply write a “warranty” on a paper that Armando will sign, with one pump being out of code in this state because it was a single speed. Gas line installed leaked gas. They cracked my sloped concrete driveway by parking a giant vibrating cement truck then damaged it significantly more by attempting to fix it all while weaseling out of responsibility. It’s as if there was rampant amnesia with me having to repeatedly re-convince them that it was in fact obviously their fault and they do indeed need to fix it promptly, but then a week goes by and it’s “it was like that before”. Then repeats, like Groundhogs Day. Sprinklers were something this team has never heard of, and I failed, at two separate lines being installed at different times, to explain ahead of time the need for the sprinkler to not be 6 inches above the ground in the “collapsed” position, and boy I tried. I redid those myself. Deco seal was done 4 times, with no adjustments to fix it essentially, and it still looks like a blindfolded person did it by feel. I just asked them to stop because they were damaging the tile reworking the deco seal and the grout. The grout was done 2-4 times as well, bumpy and uneven, then cracking in 5% of places within days. I had to constantly be on top of checking daily work as there was zero quality control and so much had to be redone and I luckily caught it before the cement set or the subcontractor left assuming they are done. My entire property was a pigsty the entire time while the lead (Armando) simply blamed his workers. All issues were the workers fault. Trash everywhere, food trash left overnight (I had a raccoon issue because of this), several ditches and tile-cutting-equipment wash areas were created over 3 months, and a chain smoker on the team left about a pack of cigarette butts on my property per day. I still pick up cigarette butts, screws, sharp shards of tile, metal rusty chunks of fun for my kids to find as well. 50% of the grass around my pool died simply because of leaving cardboard and debris covering it for days and weeks as I asked it to be moved or moved it myself. Cleaned up after the team a lot myself too. I eventually fired this company 3 months after the work was “complete” (still several unfinished things and warranty issues) because any “warranty” is worthless being redone by a semi-competent person with no adjustment to make it not be an issue again. I am embarrassed to show my pool to my friends and neighbors. Many grout lines are cracked now but I don’t want them to chip the tiles again redoing the grout. And the first rain made a large deck section move 1/4” down and cause another crack in a visible place. I will now be hiring professionals to fix most of the job with more $. Oh, cherry on top: Armando is selectively convinced I did not pay him in full, but has yet to produce any more than a single receipt for which I definitely have the checks to prove I paid. I am fairly convinced Armando does not actually know that I paid him in full because he never actually checked. He is not always convinced of this unpaid balance, the issue only comes up when there’s a warranty issue. And at some point near the finish, when his team obviously moved to another build site, he was just milking $5k/week with maybe a day of work for 1 person, claiming he has expenses, until I reminded him that I am almost paid in full. So definitely a very frustrating experience where I just kept not firing this company when I should. Avoid at all costs."
