"Vacation Beach Rentals and its owners were horrible to deal with during Governor Newsom's issued stay-at-home order in March. They took $5,000 of my money and held it hostage even though my family and I weren't even allowed to travel into California. She insisted that I provide a doctor's note detailing that it was advised that I not travel under the current conditions even though CDC recommendations advised against non-essential travel for everyone and California was shut down. After finally agreeing to let me change my dates, the owner issued a new contract that changed the original terms of the contract to a stricter cancellation policy essentially saying I couldn't ever change my dates again. I had to pick a new date and stick to it even if there was still a stay-at-home order in CA at that time. After we pointed out that it was illegal to change a contract for which you had already been paid for, she retracted. However, she put it in writing that she wouldn't be letting me change my dates again no matter what. The best she offered was a 50% refund. She still has $2,500 of my money for doing nothing other than answering my emails. She was not reasonable and was very difficult to deal with. Stay away!"
