"Review is for summer swimming classes: We are thrilled with Emeryville Pool and its staff. The entire program is well-organized and structured, and the staff and coaches are excellent. There are not enough good things we can say about all the staff; they are incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. My kids have had the pleasure of being coached by Eva, Mason, Chad, and two other coaches, and every one of them has been fantastic. Chad, in particular, has gone above and beyond to support our families. He possesses an in-depth understanding of what my daughter needs and has gone the extra mile to provide her with additional techniques to enhance her swimming skills. My daughter adores him, and she feels the connection. This connection is significant because when a child feels a bond with their teacher or coach, it boosts their motivation and makes them more likely to enjoy the class. The positive experience we've had with Emeryville Pool and Chad has meant a lot to our family. We truly appreciate the effort and dedication the staff and coaches put into their work. It has made a significant impact on our children's swimming journey, and we are grateful for the supportive and enjoyable environment they have created. Today was a truly special day for my daughter as she came out of her swimming class beaming with pride. She now believes she could become a JUNIOR LIFEGUARD! Witnessing her newfound confidence leaves me speechless, and I can't praise Chad and all the coaches enough. They have made the class an absolute delight, striking the perfect balance between fun and informative. Beyond merely teaching swimming, they focus on building up the children's confidence, and it's making a remarkable difference. I couldn't be happier with the progress my daughter is making and the positive impact they've had on her."

"These hours are not for people who work! The hours posted on Yelp are wrong. Below is what I just cut and pasted. JANUARY 3-APRIL 1, 2023 Facility Closed 1/16, 2/20 DAYS TIMES Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays 10:00am-10:30am (Water Walking and Slow Swimming) 10:30am-1:30pm 7:30pm-9:00pm (3 lanes available 7:30-8:15pm) Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30am-1:30pm 7:30pm-9:00pm (3 lanes available 7:30-8:15pm) Saturdays 3:30pm-5:30pm Sundays 2:00pm-5:00pm"

"We were discriminated against and denied admission to the pool. My 10-year-old son is a serious swimmer and I tried to take him lap swimming. I checked the website and called ahead to confirm that his age wasn't a problem. When we arrived, the front desk turned us away, saying lap swimming is 18+. The next day I confirmed with management that there's no 18+ requirement, and that 10-year-olds who are strong swimmers are allowed. I'm appalled at the mistreatment we received, and have to wonder what's going on at ECCL."

"I hesitate to recommend this place because I don't want anyone else to find it. What's not to love? Heated outdoor lap pool. Well maintained equipment. Very clean locker rooms/showers. Friendly staff. Great discounts if you're an Oakland resident and over 50. If you're looking for a great gym at a reasonable price, try this place out."
