"I'm an opiate addict. Fentanyl, heroin roxies, dilaudid, and meth. I've been using all of these drugs for the last 10 to 12 years. My reason for not getting sober is the same as every other opiate dependants'..The withdrawals. Ewwww....Detox for opiate addicts is terrifying.. Even though i was losing everything, I still couldn't quit....I've tried and tried to detox myself at home as well as other places and failed miserably time and time again...And then I found Embrace in Costa Mesa California. I freaking wish I had known places like this existed a long time ago. The staff here are remarkable. I've never had people in a facility like this care so much about what I was going thru. Whats supercool is that all of the staff here have been opiate and/or meth addicts so they get it. I only had one "kinda" bad day. Believe it or not, the worst detox symptom I had was sweating. The comfort medication they give you does exactly that... keep you comfortable. Maria, the daytime operations manager, jumped thru hoop after hoop for a number of reasons for me. Noura has the most nurturing nature, truly caring and helping me when I was at my worst. Eric, whose kinda my favorite...well they are all my favorite...but he bought and grilled filet mignon, fesh asparagus, and made baked potato, and corn last night for supper (eric spoils us with his grilled foods) so i definitely gotta give him extra points Eric also made sure I was safe from people who came here for the wrong reasons. Then there's Jason...he gets all the credit when it came to keeping me in check and not letting me crash and burn when i was demanding to leave with my debit card so I could go get high. His patience and kindness are unparalleled. Brenda and Bobby, the overnight staff made themselves uncomfortable just so I could be comfortable...And then there's Christina, the owner .I cant thank her enough for getting me here. This lady sent an Uber almost 2 hours away to pick me up and bring me here without any hesitation or question..The embrace house is spotless clean and always smells good. The back yard has beautiful foliage and lounge chairs for sunning. When i was detoxing they would change my bedding for me as often as I needed or wash my laundry bc I was too weak. They ordered from the grocery store whatever food i felt like I could tolerate. Every single person here has had a hand in getting me to where I am right now. Oh and I can't forget Sam..the house manager... I thank him for putting up with my bad attitude and not letting me jump off the proverbial cliff. Thank you so very much, guys!!! I hope that whoever is reading this and needs help will reach out to someone here and get the help they need. I give you my word that you won't regret coming here and you'll be shocked at how easy the detox is."
