"-5 STARS! If you've ever gotten them to answer the phone, go buy a lotto ticket immediately! I've never had an experience with a doctor's office not answering any calls the way they do. I went there a few times to get botox for my migraines. I wasn't getting the same relief as I was with prior neurologist so I also began seeing a massage therapist. This seemed to greatly help buy, when I told the doctor, he greatly discouraged me doing this but had no valid reasoning. I decided to return to my prior neurologist, who had moved to San Diego, and I will gladly do the 2 hour drive there instead of the 5 minute drive to this place!"
"Impossible to make an appointment here. After three phone calls, I spoke to a woman who asked about my insurance. Medicare and Blue Shield PPO was obviously not acceptable as she disconnected and I never heard from them again. So unprofessional."
"This review is not directed at the doctor, although I am extremely disappointed in him and now, after dealing with another doctor's botched surgery, I find I don't trust doctors. I have been a patient for many years. The office staff or office manager or doctors or maybe it is the culture of the office do not respond/or in my opinion care about the patient's needs. I have been called in for appointments, only to find that they cancelled it ,but forgot to tell me. I have called so many times over the years and never received responses or no one will answer the phone. I have watched patients at the reception window have the window closed on them as they complained that no one would answer the phone or return calls at least twice. I called at least 8-9 times over a 3 week period, wrote a personal letter and finally wrote a certified letter in order to get the doctor to respond. Finally they responded after 3-4 weeks, the nurse / secretary said "we've been busy", then claimed I hung up on her. I finally had to tell Dr. Patel "I did not feel welcome in that office.Then out of the blue someone called me about an appointment I knew nothing about. When I said I wasn't welcome there, her response was "sorry you feel that way". I really respected the doctor, talked to him about everything, and now I've lost complete faith.I believe there is a very poor culture that someone is responsible for and the doctors are looking the other way. I used to think the doctor walked on water, now, since I have grown tired of being treated like a number or a file or that I don't exist I would not recommend this office to anyone. There does not appear to be any concern that patients are being treated poorly by not having their calls answered or responded to. I shared with the doctor I would rather live with the disease than go through the stress and deal with the atmosphere that exists that office and I also shared in a letter (since they won't answer the phones) that I would be forgotten within a week or so and nothing would be done. Well that was several months ago and I was right."
"Consider yourself lucky if you get a live person! My first visit I saw Dr. Patel and he was very friendly and I felt very confident with him. Since then the only person I’ve seen is his nurse. I was diagnosed with Neuropathy and was given a prescription for Gabapenten. It hasn’t worked but the real problem is I can’t get anyone to talk about it. Their communication procedures are the worst I’ve ever experienced! I had a problem with where my prescription went and I had to go to the office to get it straightened out and even then the front desk didn’t know what to do. I asked them how people contacted them if they didn’t have a computer and the answer was “They come to the office.” You leave a message and there is no call back. I’ve tried using the portal and that doesn’t work. The doctors have an excellent reputations but seeing them is almost impossible. Please check out Yelp and read the complaints. I’m only one among dozens."
"Dr Patel is fantastic. The office staff when you are there for an appointment are nice etc...all the things you want. When you have a question trying to get an answer same day isn't always going to happen. They aren't good about returning messages if you call. You may get one next day. They direct you to use their patient portal and send messages to get your questions answered. I find this a bit annoying. A couple of the people should be returning and answering calls to the office while the others can returning messages through the portal. When I had a medication question only one or two people could answer and I only got the answer by showing up in the office. I shouldn't have to just show up to get an answer. If you want a great doctor and are willing to put up with some irritation and annoyance or if you don't mind messaging only, come here. This could be a 5 star place with better patient care when they call."
