"My Dad went to this doctor for several years and trusted him. I found him to be off-putting and dismissive. My Dad was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer at 95. For some unknown reason, the doctor had stopped running PSA blood tests years before. The doctor recommended aggressive radiation treatments for him. After discussing it as a family, we decided to forego the treatment and put my Dad under hospice care. When I informed the doctor of this decision in my Dad's hospital room, he turned and left the room, without acknowledging my Dad at all. . . no handshake, no thanking him for being a patient, or saying goodbye. Since he wasn't going to make any more money off of him, he just left. It was a graceless, despicable thing to do to a wonderful, dignified man who trusted him. I've waited 2 years to write this to work through the anger and give an accurate portrayal of what happened."

"Dr. Sugasawara is a great doctor. I have been a patient for years and have never known him to be anything but professional and kind. His receptionist however, is one of the rudest people you will ever encounter. From the moment she picks up the phone you can sense her attitude. It only gets worse once you are in the office. I don't know why he has kept her all these years. It's so unfortunate because Dr. Sugasawara deserves so much better than this."

"Dr Sugasawara has been my physician for 13 years and I have found him committed, and compassionate in his efforts to keep me healthy. His expertise is recognized by his peers with approval when his name is mentioned. His specialty in medicine is a difficult one, and he often had to deliver devastating news. Yet he provides his patients with the absolute knowledge that he is in their corner with his expertise and experience for the battle ahead. I give him four stars, only because the perfect human being is not on this earth. Thank you."

"When I first went to see the physician, I thought his manner was quirky and overlooked a seemingly odd outlook on the situation I was in. After a few visits, I got the distinct feeling that this doctor had no concern over my well-being outside of the bare minimum required by the healthcare system. There were several times during the course of my treatment where I felt he was pushing me off to another doctor. I didn’t agree Immediately with everything I was being told to do, and asked questions, therefore he had no time for me. During one visit, his manner was so harsh that he made me cry. I will no longer see him, nor will I recommend anyone to go see him. Find someone who is passionate about their patients and actually cares about the care they are receiving under them."
