Dr. Hugh Solvason

"I work with Dr. Solvason for treatment in his private practice, and also have undergone treatment at IntegralTMS, his TMS clinic. In treating me, Dr. Solvason has been compassionate, curious, and humble. His joviality threw me at first but he genuinely really loves what he does and it shows. He is less prescriptive and directive than most psychiatrists I’ve encountered, but it helps him learn more by listening, and I’ve grown to trust him a lot. As someone with PTSD, it is very hard for me to trust anyone, so that is meaningful. He has taken the time to genuinely get to know me and understand all of my conditions, even those he is less experienced with. Even when things are hard and he needs to deliver difficult messages (e.g. you need to make some big changes in your life or you won’t get better), he is caring and gentle. He is responsive and available to his clients. He has experience in a lot of things including treatment resistant depression and TBIs. He is queer and neurodiversity friendly. His TMS clinic is calm, quiet and has wifi and snacks. Unlike a lot of clinics, they offer a five day accelerated TMS protocol that has a higher efficacy rate than the standard six week treatment. They are an in network insurance provider and cheaper than many other area clinics (because they care about affordability, not because they sacrifice quality). Dr. Solvason is very attentive and checks on every accelerated client every day, often multiple times a day. His office is kind of hard to find, just give yourself an extra five minutes to find it because the sign is on the back of the building."
