"My business partner arranged for us to try out this location for a "test" escrow. We were assigned the junior escrow officer, Kim Diep, at this location. It is the first time and last time we will use Kim as our escrow officer. Our experience with her was disappointing. We've worked many other escrow companies, and Kim did not even come close to the quality standards I suppose we've come to expect. As a result, it is also the first time and last time we will use this particular Chicago Title. Why? We had a relatively simple transaction, but Kim struggled at the terminology, technicalities, forms, and process. But the main issue we had with Kim was poor communication. She would misunderstand or ignore requests, and seemingly not read messages. She makes unilateral decisions that ignore her client's input. Every interaction with her was rushed. Quality suffered. It cost extra in time and dollars. Yes, this Chicago Title location does have a terrible rating on Yelp, and I do think it is deserved. However, to be fair, I'd like to say we have had great experiences at *other* Chicago Title locations. Try the Chicago Title office in Cupertino. Or the Chicago Title office in Oakland. Both are lightyears ahead of this Chicago Title office in San Francisco, and they handle transactions throughout California. During COVID, you're gonna have to use a mobile notary regardless, so it really doesn't matter where your title company is, as long as they are in California. There's other more senior escrow officers at this location. If you must use this location, request an escrow officer other than Kim. You can request a different escrow officer at the outset of the transaction. So choose wisely. There is wide range of quality in title companies - READ the REVIEWS and make a smart decision on which you select. Not doing so will cost you time and $$."
"Just close escrow with this branch. Never send information about closing and notify me, as a buying agent, the closing statement and the date of signing the documents to protect my client. Not ethical and not professional! Not suggest to do business with...."
