"This man is extremely rude. He was the first doctor my son ever saw and I was a brand new Mom and very anxious about everything and he berated me and made me feel stupid many times just for asking specific questions about my son. He refused to acknowledge when my son was suffering from reflux and was in pain. My son was screaming crying everyday all day except when he was asleep and had all the signs and symptoms of reflux. My son was crying and I was trying to feed him so he could calm down while in the room and he yelled at me for not giving him constant eye contact. How am I supposed to give him constant eye contact when I’m trying to feed him??! Who is he, my father? Even worse, he commented on my sons penis telling me that my son would look better if he gets circumcised. He doesn’t know what he’s doing. He’s rude and judgmental. He doesn’t care about his patients. I would recommend finding another doctor, I know with medical(if your child has that insurance) it can be hard finding a decent doctor but there are many others! My son switched and his new doctor is great, polite, patient, and informed. Stay away from this man"

"I found Dr Theodore Caliendo through my insurance. My first son was seen by him for about 3 to 4 years on and off (due to changes of insurance). Dr Caliendo is older and figured he has many years of experience so that made me have confidence in him. I met a lady once while waiting for a prescription medicine in the downstairs pharmacy that said she left Dr Caliendo because he was so rude. I hadn't had that experience with him so there was no reason to change doctors. I had my second son and automatically started taking him to Dr Caliendo. My son was still a baby (about 9 or 12months) and had a cold when he was due for a checkup and vaccines. I took him in and asked the nurse if we could schedule him for his shots at a later time once he is not sick anymore. To my surprise, when dr Caliendo walked in, he was mad and started saying the rudest things! Telling me that if I wanted my son not to get sick, I needed a bigger house and that us "mexican's" bundle our kids too much. I was shocked! He doesn't know what type of house I live in or what nationality I am. I had heard him criticize others when they bundle their children too much. And although that's true, my son only had his diaper on and one blanket. It was a cold morning and it had been raining. Anyway, Dr Caliendo did not even touch my son. Did not even check him. He just gave me his racist and rude remarks and told me my son needed to get the shots and walked out! I was in shock and told the nurse what had happened. The nurse apologized for him and said he had been in a bad mood because one of his patients had just died after the child was seen by him 2 weeks prior to her death. Oh my gosh, are you kidding?! What a horrible experience. I now have a great, caring doctor but the bad news continue to come. My son's current doctor discovered that my son had received 4 doses of IPV vaccine by 15 months of age. Children at that age are only supposed to have 3 doses and the fourth dose is not due until they are 4 to 6 yrs old. I called Dr Caliendo's office and they said the reason they gave him the fourth dose at only 15 months was because at the time, they only had the shot that came with tetanus, polio and hib shot all together. Why they didn't explain that to me is beyond me. We as parents have a right to know but they take advantage of the trust we have for them. We also have a right to tell our children's doctor if we want to wait a day a week or even a month for their shots. Protect your children and stay away from Dr Caliendo; find your self a good, caring doctor."
