Schoonover Dog Park

"Separate areas for small dogs and larger/all dogs. Very sandy. Water spicket with hose in "big dog side." Usually pretty low-key. Mostly regulars. No restrooms available. Small dog side right next to a playground. This is good if you have kids, but bad if you have a little pup that hates kids (like mine)."

"One of the best dog parks in the Salinas region. Small dedicated parking lot. Obstacle course, separate area for small dogs with seating and water bowls, gates are easy to navigate, tools for picking up after your pets, plus some kind folks have left toys for anyone to use. Some of the nicest people I've ever met at this park, so much so that I'll drive 30 mins each direction to get here, passing other local parks that have little infrastructure and few friendly faces to come to Schoonover with my Frenchie Taco."

"Converted baseball park split into small dog and big dog area allowing safe play. The owners are very responsible and attentive to their dogs. The trash is routinely picked up and doggy poop bags are made available."

"Well set up with a small dog side and big dog side. Double gate entrance for safety. Hose bib for water. And it is big, probably over half an acre, lots of room to run. Field is mostly sand with some grassy areas. There is also shade in a number of places. It is close to marina so it is very rarely hot. Only problem is the entrance to the parking lot, it is very narrow and if you are not paying attention will scuff up your wheels. Lot is small as well and serves the kids play area too."
