"This lawyer's Yelp page and Linkedin page say he's fluent in Korean. But he actually used Google Translate (Generally machine translation doesn't work well between Korean and English) even when preparing documents to file to the court. I'm serious. People in the court had to educate this lawyer that he shouldn't use Google Translate to generate court-filing documents. Moreover, he asked questions about some legal processes to the opposing party's lawyer (You read it correctly. He depended on the opposing party's lawyer). He tends to take things personally and becomes easily emotional -- Not a good trait for a lawyer, in my opinion. Several times he lost his temper and vented through emails with insults and personal attacks (We will see how he will react to this review). And made the case unnecessarily complicated and costly. He kept grunting and murmuring meaninglessly in emails, only to insult others, even while he was doing important negotiation with other attorneys through emails. Apparently, I strongly suspect that he insisted on unrealistic requests even though his client didn't want that, just to delay the settlement and cost more money. I can personally send you his emails if anyone asks. In our case, at first all the parties actually wanted to negotiate and reach an agreement fast. However, the party represented and advised by this lawyer, eventually filed unnecessary lawsuits somehow. And everyone except the lawyer wasted lots of money, time, and energy. We're talking about 6 digits of money from an ordinary household, spent to lawyers, for no good results. It was a big lose-lose game for everybody except the lawyer. I printed out some declarations he wrote, and showed it to some people (some lawyers, and some educated and reasonable people), and they burst out laughing. I swear I'm telling the truth. A lawyer who read his writing said "I can't believe a lawyer wrote this." I can personally send you his writings if anyone asks. He made a long and impassioned speech at the court. But what he said didn't make sense and sounded malicious. Eventually the judge yelled at him to stop (I can tell you the judge's name personally if anyone asks). You know lawyers in the US. Some lawyers' speech and writing are literally like kids' ranting without any logic, reasoning, or evidence. But you will not know until you see your results and pay the attorney fee, which can easily reach 6 digits in the US (I'm saying from my 1st hand experience. If you want to hear the details, contact me personally). I'm not blaming good lawyers. I'm just talking about ambulance chasers who live by bullying others and telling lies. In the US, your life can be screwed up if you choose a bad lawyer. Not many people can avoid being homeless after paying 6 digit money to lawyers for nothing. With the broken medical system, your family will be hosed. That's why bad lawyers deserve bad reputations for justice and people's protection. When choosing legal service providers, most people don't have useful information. So I believe honest and detailed reviews for bad lawyers are very important to protect the people's rights. I know some lawyers try to discredit the opposing party, by lies and slander. For example, what this lawyer often did was basically just repeating "You are mentally ill! I pity your children because you're mentally ill!" (Seriously, that is his logic. Of course he doesn't have any knowledge about mental illness, and I would actually more worry about his own mental state), exactly like a bad tempered little kid ranting (Can you imagine a normal adult doing such things as a daily job?). I hope he won't do that in his reply to this review."
