"I ordered flowers from Rendezvous to be delivered my wife on Valentine's Day this year. The order went in the day before (2/13), and was taken cheerfully by a nice woman who, despite seeming a little confused and frazzled (it was the day before V-day, so she can be forgiven), was very sweet. She confirmed my order, took delivery and payment information, and all seemed well. For my order, I'd found a roughly $150 arrangement on their website which I referenced (she didn't know what I was talking about at first & had to ask someone). Because I know arrangements vary based on season, I made an additional request: no hydrangeas or lilies, due to allergies. I didn't hear from my wife about the flowers yesterday (Valentine's Day) - she usually calls or texts when she receives them. So, I called her office around 5:30PM - they had not yet arrived. I called Rendezvous to inquire - the lady on the phone told me very curtly they'd been delivered 2 hours prior. I apologized and called my wife's work again, and both of the receptionists who worked there scoured the small office to make certain they hadn't missed the flowers or they hadn't been grabbed by someone else. No flowers. I called Rendezvous back (5:45PM) and got a machine. I left a message, saying flowers had not been delivered, and asked for a call back the next morning. By 2PM the next day, I had not received a call. Just as I was about to call them, my wife called me: she had just received a bouquet from Rendezvous. They looked, she said, a bit rough - water was milky, flowers were droopy - as though they were a day or two old. And...it was an entire bouquet of lilies, one of the two prohibited flowers. I called Rendezvous with this news, and immediately got the run-around from a very rude woman: "What do you want us to do?" Well, I'd like a refund. "Do you know who you talked to yesterday?" No, she didn't give me a name. "Who took your order?" I don't know. A woman. Can you look up my order by my name? (at this point, she looked up my order and confirmed the note: no hydrangeas or lilies) "You know yesterday was Valentine's Day. You can understand things happen." Yes, I get it. I'd like a refund. "We can't give refunds like that. What else can we do?" Nothing. I'm not paying for day-late, wilted flowers to which we're allergic. Finally, after waiting on hold for some time, a manager (I think) came on - same set of questions, same defensiveness, same trying to avoid the refund. Finally, he said, "do you want us to come get the flowers?" I replied, "I want a refund. If that means you come get the flowers, then that's fine." So, they're coming to get the flowers. We'll see if they actually refund my money. Either way, never ordering flowers here again. I understand mistakes get made. If they'd simply owned-up to the mistake, I have asked for the refund, gotten it, and been satisfied. I'd likely never have ordered from Rendezvous again, but I'd otherwise have let it go. But lying, trying to avoid responsibility and being rude in the process, and then trying to deny the refund - that is what made me write this poor review. I'm never ordering from them again, and I don't think you should either."
