"Despite having raised many good dogs I was having trouble with reactivity and basic dog training with a dog we adopted as a puppy in 2020. Then we adopted another in 2023 and we were having the same issues. After reading the other reviews I reached out to Ray and am so glad I did. Just got back from traveling with our dogs for a few weeks. We boarded them twice and both places said they did great. We took them in Petco stores and ran them at dog parks off leash. They interacted wonderfully with people and dogs alike. They no longer pull on the leash. I can walk them both at the same time and they stay at my side until I release them. They will sit and stay in a dog park until released and come when I call despite distractions. Ray taught us how to effectively communicate with our dogs. His customer service is awesome. He cares about us and our dog’s success and he adjusted to our schedules and progress. This is definitely so much more than a one size fits all series of classes. I’m proud of my dogs’ behavior and it’s entirely due to the training we did with Ray."

"I highly recommend Tail of Success to anyone looking for dog training or boarding in the Ventura area. Ray is an incredible trainer - I’ve used his services for week-long boarding, daytime care, and week-long training. Ray worked with my 3-year old Siberian Husky to help him improve his temperament around other dogs as well as improve his leash walking skills (he now walks by my side instead of leading). The best part is that Ray trains you too! He’ll spend time with you upon pickup to debrief and let you know how to keep the training going at home. He’s communicative throughout and will send photos or text updates to let you know how it’s going, like the photo I’ve posted below. What’s best is that unlike other boarding facilities, your dogs aren’t left alone overnight either. There is someone always overnight with your pup. The facility feels more like a home, instead of a kennel, and your pups get to go on walks in the beautiful Portside community. Lastly, if you do live in Portside, having Ray there is the gift that keeps on giving - even weeks or months after having watched a my dog, I’ll run into Ray and he continues to give me free advice / helpful tips as I’m out walking the dog. He is an expert and truly cares about his job. Check them out!"

"We love Tail of Success! Our dogs stayed for two weeks while we were on vacation, they went out of their way to send us photos and updates the whole time we were gone. They took extra care to accommodate our three legged dog and our dog with separation anxiety. When we came back from the trip our dogs were happy to see us but still wanted to hang out with their friends! They even came home better behaved than when we left. Tail of Success is awesome, highly recommended!"
