Reviews of Richmond Area Multi-Services Inc: Eng Katherine
"Therapist 5 Stars Location 5 stars Building 4.5 stars Language/cultural competence 5 stars Psych medication 5 stars I can not possibly write a review for the entire Richmond Area Multi-Services Inc. but I will attempt to write my humble review on some of professionals that represent RAMS Inc. Becoming a Suffused Ephemeral Abstraction like... oh, entering a timeless "Galaxy of Possibilities" constantly changing, tailored individually just for you. I have advanced in self recognition & self acceptance, learning how to allow my emotions to exist, flag my internalized stigma & cognitive disorders, learning in depth what kind of attachment disorders I have, working through my triggers, being open about my challenges so that more people can help me and yes, I find myself in everything else. I feel I am suffused. Under the care of Dr Eng (no longer with RAMS) in 16 months I have reached an emotional platform of daily compassion for life. I did my part, involving other methods of healing work, and practically altered my eating, talking, listening, meditating, and social habits. The 5 Stars experience I have had so far is also something I have equally invested in. So, please do not think that all of this can be attained without self motivation and daily effort. I have found Dr. Eng loyal (I was missing for 3 months and she encouraged me to come back), experienced in her field at multiple levels, maintain high integrity as a clinician, and has a firm invested interest for patients', colleagues', affiliated professionals' overall well being. Exceptional in delicate handling of timing (she knows when is too early), securing safety on a timely manner, and highlights her patients' traits such as cultural, linguistic, sexual orientation, gender, immigration, anthropological identities as their strengths (I used to perceive them as obstacles in life) and allows the patients to grow and develop at their own speed. Patients in her care can and will have chances to re-discover and explore a redesigned foundation to safety, healthy boundaries, outlook in life, esteem, independence with confidence. It becomes easy for the patient to see oneself as transitionary, never boxed in a tendency, social expectation, limitations, and patterns. She welcomes and helps to see oneself ephemeral, quite beautifully blissful. The mind shifts from capturing isolated events in a fixed evaluation to a withdraw from rules and walls and relates to an experience in a fluid abstraction. Extensively involved in training and education (if you are thinking of doing a Ph.D. in Psychology, I would trust Katherine Eng for predoc training), sophisticated in interpersonal skills (all of the affiliated professionals have found her exactly), attentive to research evidence, takes sufficient time to build a foundation of trust, highly mastered in self-insight (counter-transference), seeks for any possibility to establish an alliance with the patient (she has never put words in my mouth), provides insight of symptoms and other perceptions hidden in blind spots, flexible and tactile in formulating methods for progress, nurtures confidence in the patients' self-maneuvering through rough spots, does not take away the patients' privilege to make mistakes, and most of all, with mastery, grounds the patient that have lived through decades of complete dissociation."
