"I usually don't like writing reviews on providers like this since therapy is such an individual experience for everyone. Unfortunately, I feel like I have to let people know my experience with Dr. Benavidez. She's not awful or anything (as some mental health providers can be), but she was apathetic to me and my struggles. During our sessions, it was clear she wasn't listening and instead reading something else on her computer, constantly. Her responses to things were the equivalent of a bad tinder conversation. To give her credit though, she would go out of her way to allow me to afford psych testing and evaluations, which no other provider was willing to do. I really do appreciate her for that. She does testing a lot and I believe she would be a great psychologist to go to if you need someone to test you or your child as her process was good. Although, on the flip side, I expressed some concerns about myself that I wanted to be tested for and was written off completely from the start, and even during the testing she would make remarks also implying. That kind of bias would never be accepted in any other scientific field. Someone who's testing you needs to be impartial, or it'll affect the results. Isn't that the scientific method 101? So to sum this all up, Dr. Benavidez is a good provider for testing (if you don't express certain concerns and just let her do her thing impartially) but not so great for individual therapy. At least in my experience."
