"I was very discouraged to learn from direct experience that Shawn is a business man first and psychiatrist second. Shawn is expensive and he knows it. I went to see him regardless at a real time of need. We scheduled a follow up appointment. I knew this was likely a means to an end for me based on cost and that he doesn’t accept insurance. I just started a new job and a meeting was placed on my calendar the morning of my follow up. I called Shawn right away prior to 9am for a 3:30 appt to ask to reschedule. I did not hear back from him until 3:30 and also not by phone but by email where he gave very scripted cancelation policy language. He knew that he was waiting until the 11th hour to tell me he’d be happy to work with me going forward but he was keeping 100% of my money from that day. Money above all else. Very disappointing outcome."
