"Dr. Matalon is an exceptional psychiatrist. When I relocated to San Diego, I was apprehensive about changing doctors after working with my previous one for a long time. However, Dr. Matalon's warm welcome and thorough approach quickly allayed my concerns. He diligently ensured that the prescribed medication suited me, making prompt adjustments when needed. Thanks to his expertise, I have overcome debilitating challenges and regained control of my life. While he may be more conservative in his approach, I appreciate that he prioritizes my safety. Unlike other doctors who readily prescribe potent medication, Dr. Matalon's conscientious care sets him apart. For anyone seeking genuine support for their mental health, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Matalon. Side note: I just read all the bad reviews about Doc and my experience is in no way like that. He has never asked me to write a review he has never said anything inappropriate to me And I’m pretty sexy. I have a few times missed my appointments and had to pay the rescheduling fee which is OK because his time is set aside for me and I didn’t show up. I feel lucky that he doesn’t charge me the same amount for another appointment since I’m taking up another chunk of his time but he only charges 50% of that which I think is pretty cool, for some of the people who say that he’s insensitive because he doesn’t allow you to get away with rescheduling without paying for his time. Well, that is a blanket policy and you sign the papers when you come in and you know it’s the only way that they can do it to make it fair. If you land on this side of the time you pay if you land before it you don’t , I’m starting to think maybe these people were just doctor shopping and they’re pissed off that the doctor wouldn’t just willy-nilly prescribe them whatever they ask for. Please do yourself a favor and give him a shot. You will not be disappointed."

He listens for subtle clues about how you're doing and figures out the best way to move forward with your medication, if it needs changes or not. He seems up-to-date on the most recent medications and knows their strengths and side effects. He's also pleasant to talk with and isn't judgmental about any hardships or failures you've had."
