"DO NOT USE HAPPIER LIVING FOR ANY SERVICES!!!! Less than 0 stars from me. My therapist was wonderful, but the business office is absolutely horrendous. I was told & it was confirmed multiple times, that my copay for teletherapy is $0. I had a 3 way call with them & my insurance after they tried to say my therapist with them was out of network. We had it all resolved, until I started getting emails saying my card would be charged $25 copays for each of our visits (approximately 10 of them). I went around in circles with them, even sending them emails that they sent me, telling me my copay was $0. I'm on disability. I have very limited income & purposely chose teletherapy due to the $0 copay. They submitted all of my claims as office visits, even though all of them were either phone or zoom visits. I was told they had a legal obligation to submit them that way. They are a predatory practice & only care about the money. They caused me so much anxiety that my mental health suffered because of what they did. My therapist left the practice because of how they treated her & her clients. I will be contacting the state insurance commissioner and also will file a grievance with my insurance company so they stop referring people to Happier Living. What they are doing is criminal. The last woman I spoke with about my account told me she was glad I didn't have any future appointments with them. What an awful thing to say to someone. I will tell my friends, family & the world to avoid Happier Living if they want to improve their mental health & not get robbed in the process. **After I filed a complaint with the BBB, a representative reached out on 1/30/24 and told me, in writing, that they were removing the balance on my account. It's now 2/28/24 & guess what I just got? A statement with a balance of $150. This company is a complete joke. They will not get a penny from me."
"I found several providers in-network through my health insurance and scheduled an appointment. On the day of the appointment, an hour or so before my appointment, I got an email that stated the provider is out-of-network and they cancelled my appointment without my permission. I have emailed back and forth with their "insurance verification" representative, Janeth Lagria several times and she has no idea what she's doing. I called my insurance and verified the provider is in-network. Ms. Lagria is still insisting they're out-of-network. I called and asked to speak with a supervisor but was told no one was available and that someone would call me back. Your customer service representatives are incompetent and are hindering my ability to obtain services."
"This is easily the worst company for mental health. I have had good luck with providers but the customer service is absolutely terrible. TLDR: DO NOT START CARE WITH THIS COMPANY! They do not care about their clients or providers. They only care about making money for themselves. Providers have left due to the way this company is run as they feel it is unethical. I missed an appointment the other day because I am sick and they are trying to charge me $500 unless I provide a doctors note. At that point I hadn't seen a doctor yet and typically wouldn't unless my illness was lingering beyond 2 weeks or it was absolutely unbearable and I was concerned. This is just a minor flu where at home remedies will work. They are not willing to accommodate me. I want to point out that this is a mental health service and charging your customers the full amount billed to insurance is insane and one might argue bad for your mental health. Also ADHD is a condition treated in mental health and known to be a cause for people to miss appointments and such and they will charge you $500. How can anybody afford this?! We all make mistakes sometimes and you'd think a company who focuses on mental health would find a happy medium to support both the client and the provider. Additionally when my therapist was leaving the company because she didn't agree with the way the company was run they told me they would have a customer service rep join our appointment to schedule me with another therapist. This is invasive. Nobody should be joining my sessions let alone taking time away from my sessions. They also contact you via email saying they are your care provider and if you respond you get a response from customer service. This is not okay as there are times when my response might be confidential between my provider and myself yet they are posing as my provider. I have told my providers about my grievances and they were appalled, so much so that my therapist actually left the company because of the way they treat us. I am still under care with one of their psychiatrists and I love her otherwise I would find care elsewhere."
"Dr. Elizabeth Roberts literally sent me into a tailspin with her complete lack of compassion and bedside manner. As a registered nurse, I don't have high expectations for care. I just expect to be treated respectfully and not have my time wasted. She laughed at me. Scoffed at me. Made faces at me when I would share honestly. Never have I felt so embarrassed during a mental health appointment and I've had more than a few. She also stated that she "thought I was someone who could handle being spoken to bluntly and in an upfront way, but she sees I'm not that person." Excuse me? Why would it be necessary to say that to someone seeking mental health help and is clearly struggling? I don't really care what person she thinks I am. If I communicate to you that the way you're speaking to me is a problem, then adjustments and compromises (on both of our ends) need to be made... Not sharing your opinion of how you feel about me. Also... Unsure if she needs additional training regarding how she charts, but she spends an exorbitant amount of time pecking at the keys while I wait for the next question she's going to ask. Absolute waste of time every single time I had a 40 minute session. I regret giving it three tries because I'm $650 in the hole (and I'm reaching out to my insurance for that because this seems exorbitant) and I knew in session 1 that she was a nightmare, but some people hard rough first impression. She should consider retirement because she's clearly tired of dealing with people who need help. I thought she was someone who could be professional, compassionate, and share her expertise in a concise way that would assist me. She clearly is not that person."
