"I took my kids here for about 3-4years and every time I had to take them for an appointment I always dreaded it because of how uncomfortable Dr. Kaplan made us feel. He is rude, very unprofessional and impatient he does not like kids and he dislikes their parents even more. Most patients that see Dr. Kaplan are Medi-cal patients and he seems to think he can treat them a certain type of way because of that. I have private insurance and have chosen to stay with Dr. Kaplans practice because his nurse is the best she is so kind to me and my kids my kids love her but unfortunately it’s not worth having to deal with Kaplan. He told me right in front of my daughter who is very healthy and not over weight that she should lay off the chips and snacks because her weight is getting a little high for her height she is 8 years old ! She not stupid and can understand weight is the last thing an 8year old little girl needs to be worried about it definitely could’ve been told in another way. Anyways we will be getting a different pediatrician one that actually likes their job. Retire already Kaplan you hate your job, you hate kids and people in general and it shows."

"Dr Kaplan in my honest opinion, is not only very unprofessional but also very rude, I highly recommend not to take your child to this so called “pediatrician”. Not only did I have a very unwelcoming experience, but my wife has also felt insecure that the fact he had the audacity to make my wife feel like she’s a terrible mother . To go and say that our son is malnourished, when we went to see a specialist at Santa Barbra for him to say our son say was perfectly healthy. Overall his “passion” to work with children is no where to be found. Better off Dr Kaplan find a new career. Forgot to mention the receptionist is very rude and will talk over and act like she has authority over you. Bless you and your child if you ever go to his “clinic “."

"If I could write this doctor zero stars I would! I have never in my entire 32 years of living on this earth have experienced a Doctor Who works with children as nasty rude and inconsiderate as a Dr. Kaplan! He has absolutely no patience for children as well as their parents! I have had nothing but terrible experiences with this doctor every appointment I have taken my kids to. My daughter now has developed a complex and she is extremely insecure for a seven-year-old all because of him. Not to mention my seven-year-old daughter has had some health concerns for seven-year-old and he pretty much just turn the other cheek! Any parents out there who continue to see him as your pediatrician I pray nothing but grace upon your visits. The best thing I have ever done was get my kid out of there and straight into the best one of the best pediatricians out there in the central coast Dr. Barry! I will continue to pray for any parent or any child who continues to see this doctor that they will never ever experience with not only I had to but my daughter had to and the long term damage he has created for her over the years!!!!"

"His nurse/ front desk lady is rude and you can tell she hates her job. Dr. Kaplan quite obviously doesn't like children and is not a people person. He takes advantage of the fact that he is one of the only pediatricians in the area taking new patients. He speaks Spanish and treats parents badly, because he knows he can take advantage of the minorities! He also didn't realize that my son had a very severe tongue tie and saw him more than 5 times. Avoid this doctor. Call Dr. Barry or Barbara Ramirez."

"I never go out of my way to leave negative reviews but I feel as a mother I would like to know if a pediatrician behaved this badly to spare my children from the experience. I have since been to another pediatrician and they have confirmed and so has the BMI that my son is not over weight. I took my son for a 3 year physical and when Dr. Kaplan came in he told me my son is obese. When I said I don’t think he is he proceeded to lift his shirt and pinch his stomach and tell me “this is fat.” My son is not thin he does have a little belly but he is a perfectly healthy 3 year old. This has been confirmed by his new pediatrician as I never returned to Dr. Kaplan’s office again. Just one example of the multiple points he was rude about during the checkup. I would sum this doctor up as a mean bully."
