"Just ignores messages and health problems. Downplays serious conditions and makes up lies in attempt to avoid any additional work for herself."
"Dr. Spier is a gifted, persistent neurologist who has her patient's back. My husband's glioblastoma in his right front temporal lobe was inoperable according to several neurologists. Then he found Dr. Spier who refused to accept the terminal prognosis, searching on his behalf for a surgeon specializing in that particular tumor type in that location. She found one. My husband is now 15 years cancer-free and thriving. We are forever grateful for her diligence and unwillingness to give up."
"Dr. Spier is the main reason I dropped Kaiser Permanente as my health insurance provider after a combined 30 years of KP coverage for my family. Liz Spier is the only healthcare professional in her subspecialty for all of San Diego County. In fact, Kaiser only employs two doctors in this subspecialty for the entire Southern California Region. That means that she and her counterpart have an absolutely enormous number of patients, all with very different diseases and symptoms. There is no way, given this system, that Dr. Spier can provide adequate care to any given patient. After at least ten in-person visits with $50 copayments a piece, Dr. Spier was late to each one- sometimes 20 minutes late. Given her busy schedule, she would then allot the first 10 minutes of our visit to brushing up on the patient case file and try to re-familiarize herself with the patient medical history. This was, of course, a waste of time. Then, in hurried fashion, we would be booted out of the office and given rapid follow-up instructions. I could go on in detail, but I will give the nadir of my experience. After an unexpected emergency department visit, ED doctors tried to contact Dr. Spier in an urgent manner to receive professional guidance for the patient. Dr. Spier did not respond in any way for SEVEN HOURS. I've had to file at least three formal complaints against Dr. Spier with Kaiser and the State of California."
