"Been here trying to get treatment since August five months later and we have still yet to start. Scheduling sucks even came one time and there machine where down I have been waiting a week to get a call back from Dr. Gabayan. Just because this place is in "Beverly hills" there service is atrocious. Wouldn't recommend and if anything happens to me we know the institution that's responsible."
"DO NOT TRUST DR. MICHAEL CASTRO! At first he seemed like a doctor who took the time understanding my cancer. I met Dr. Castro months later because of complications I had from MRI's, CT scans, and PET scans. The radiation completely fried my mouth. Many doctors couldn't diagnose me. Then finally I was diagnosed with Mucositis. I wasn't able to brush my teeth, use mouthwash without it burning, I wasn't able to eat, swallow, my mouth kept bleeding, skin kept peeling, and my tongue looked horrific. Radiology seems to have history doing things wrong. Check the reviews. People have also died because of these people. This cancer center is a nightmare. It's interesting how staff pulled paperwork about my tests saying everything they did wasn't the cause of what happened to my mouth. Dr. Castro said what I am dealing with wasn’t his problem. He said he is there to help his other patients that are "worth" saving. And that taking a project like mine is a waste. He went from telling me he will take care of me to washing his hands from what I went through."
"I am extremely disappointed with the Beverly Hills Cancer Center Laboratory. I had my blood drawn for certain tests that were supposed to be sent to third-party laboratories. Before proceeding, I asked both the doctor and the lab technicians about the cost of these tests. They admitted not knowing the cost, but assured me that I would be contacted by the labs before the tests were conducted. They made it clear that I wouldn't be charged without my explicit consent on the cost. They assured me that they would instruct the labs to contact me prior to any testing for confirmation. However, the situation unfolded differently. Instead of ensuring my consent, they simply left a note on the lab form requesting a payment call. The labs went ahead with the tests and subsequently sent me a bill. Regrettably, I am unable to afford this bill, and I would never have agreed to the tests if BHCC had handled the situation as they had assured me. I made an effort to resolve this matter with the lab, but encountered unhelpfulness. They shifted the responsibility onto the third-party lab, refusing to acknowledge their own mistake. When I requested to speak to a manager, I was kept on hold for over an hour. On another occasion, they promised a call back from the manager, which never materialized. Moreover, when I inquired about the manager's availability, they evaded the question, leaving me with the impression that they were deliberately avoiding my request to speak with the manager. It's evident that either they are intentionally avoiding involving the manager, or worse, the manager is unwilling to communicate with me. The conduct of these individuals has been extremely discourteous. I was forthright with them about my financial limitations. They assured me that I would not be charged without prior consent, but this turned out to be untrue. Furthermore, they have shown no willingness to rectify a problem for which they bear responsibility. I am beyond disappointed with Beverly Hills Cancer Center."
"The technicians didn't shield my testicles when I got radiation on my thigh. I didn't know until weeks into the treatment that my testes were getting fried. I was later told I wasn't provided shielding because I wasn't of "child bearing age". I was only 48yo. I now have the testosterone level of a woman and need hormone therapy. That said, I'm now cancer-free, and most of the staff is likable and accommodating. Being cancer-free is the most important factor in all this, so I’m not writing this review with an absence of gratitude. I just don’t want the next guy to go through what I did, especially when it could have been so easily prevented."
"Shockingly unprofessional. Scheduled a visit first thing in the morning and I was one of the very first patients to arrive. After nearly two hours of waiting, the doctor never saw me, and when I announced to his assistant that I would be leaving, he ran out and tried to usher me in immediately (for work I did not request) and was slurring his words. The assistants and the staff did their best to accommodate me, and thankfully I was able to get a refund, but the doctor displayed every red flag in the book, and thank goodness I can go and seek better treatment elsewhere."
